“Enjoyed our stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

We spent three nights here in a clean and comfortable king-size patio room. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. The hotel's location and helpful staff would bring us back again. We did not eat breakfast on site, nor did we take advantage of the pool, so cannot review those. The property is conveniently located to take in the Olympic National Park and other sights the area has to offer.

Room Tip: The flooring in the first floor hallways is a slate/rock surface that can be a little noisy.

I was sharing with a colleague and having separate sinks in the bathroom was ideal. The room was very spacious with 2 Queen size beds which were comfortable and the room had not only a desk but a table which was very handy when we both had to work on our laptops since we could both spread out. We were also 1 flight up from the lobby but close to the back where it was possible to just walk out to the parking lot and very handy for loading up the car without having to take the stairs or the elevator. One thing about the bathroom is that I wish there were more towel racks, there really wasn't any place for each of us to hang our bath or hand towels.

Breakfast was not included so the 1st morning I went down and had 2 scrambled eggs, a small dish of fresh fruit and 1 slice of toast, coffee was extra. It was I thought very pricey, including tax it was $16.59.

This is a lovely property, with landscaping that is very well maintained and pretty. My only gripe was the cost of the breakfast.

Room Tip: It helps if you can stay on the second floor which has direct access, by a locked side door, to the...

The rooms, especially the "Executive King" rooms facing the golf course, are large and quiet. Bed was comfortable. Wi-Fi was free. There was no in-room safe. Parking is free, but breakfast is not included. The parking in front of the hotel can fill, so you may need to park around back/on the side, away from the elevator. There were several luggage carts for you to use. There are no self-service laundry facilities in the hotel. Apparently there are some nearby. There are some basic stores and restaurants nearby, but you'd need to drive to most restaurants, and to supermarkets (the room had a mini-refrigerator, so it was easy to buy items for our breakfasts).

On our second morning, we were woken up at about 5:30 a.m. by the loud, piercing fire alarm. No audio announcements, just the alarm. Like other guests, we left the room, walked to an exit door, down stairs and out into the parking lot. The alarm continued. We never did see any hotel personnel telling anyone what was going on or advising them what to do. I do not know if anyone made sure all guests had left their rooms. After nearly an hour, we decided to have an early breakfast at Joshua's restaurant and bar, which opened early to accommodate the hotel's guests. Fire trucks arrived and stayed for some time. Later, we saw a maintenance company's van there for much of the day. The hotel never did offer an explanation of what occurred, though when I asked they said it was a problem with the water pump, which caused the alarm to go off. A day or so later, we were told that the water would be turned off for a few hours, for routine maintenance.

We ate breakfast in the hotel's restaurant on one morning. Prices and quality were about the same as at Joshua's. The hotel's restaurant is not open for lunch or dinner. Personnel at the hotel's front desk did offer restaurant suggestions, and a basic map of downtown, though they never recommended their neighbor Joshua's, where we had a couple of very good dinners (including wild salmon).

Room Tip: Get a room facing the golf course. We found both the regular two-Queen-bed room and the Executive K...

This is a very good place to stay whether on business or pleasure. It is conveniently located with easy access of SR 101. The staff is very friendly and more than willing to suggest dinning locations in Port Angeles.

We did have one issue, which was resolved by moving out of the room. Very early in the morning the HVAC system which must have been on the roof above our room became very noisy. The system never shut of and was rumbling and shaking the room. At our request, we were moved to another room which was a lot better!

Should you be given Room 308 ask if they have the HVAC system fixed; if not, you will not get any sleep!

Room Tip: Avoid Room 308! You want a room facing the golf course.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a King-bed room with patio and found it very comfortable. We had a nice view across the golf course towards the mountains of Olympic National Park. The room was very spacious and well equipped. Our only criticism was the noisy refrigerator. It had been left on maximum setting and we had to remove it from the cabinet to access the control mechanism on the rear of the casing. Breakfast was good, with friendly service and a reasonable range of dishes.

Room Tip: Rooms on the ground floor with terraces have a nice view of golf course, with Olympic Park mountains...

Great outdoor heated pool and Jacuzzi with a view of the golf course, open 9 to 9. No towel kiosk, Olympic Lodge guest directory does not mention you should bring your own or room towels? Breakfast not included in pricey room total (good location lets them set their prices?). I made a bedside table by upending a waste basket for my glass of water and pills.
Check-in was late because the "rooms were not ready" I think they were shampooing the carpet with something that smelled like insecticide.
Comfortable bed, fairly quiet, clean room...complimentary wifi which has 3 hot spots in the hotel and seems variable in strength (available at 7 am but not at 9 pm).

Room Tip: Ask for a room near the wifi hot spot if this is important to you.

This was a very clean and well maintained hotel. It was close to drive to the park over the two different days. Staff was very helpful with recommendations of what to do and where to eat. All was great for what we needed on the time we were there. Great large tv in rooms!!
