“Great value and comfort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

Stayed recently for a work trip. The front desk staff was great, very courteous and personable. Rooms were roomy and well appointed. The decor is very classic for the region, nothing fancy but nice and clean. The lobby is lovely, and the free cookies and soup area nice touch. Overall it's a very comfortable stay for both business and pleasure.

Room Tip: Might be worth getting a room facing away from highway if you're around to enjoy the view.

Thank you for the kind words for our front desk staff; they work very hard to make sure our guests staying with us, on business or pleasure, are happy! During the winter months we are offering complimentary cookies and soup so I’m glad that you were able to enjoy them while staying with us. We hope to see you again on your next trip to town!

We loved this lodge... The King View room was large and comfortable, the two sinks were nice, and we liked having a refrigerator and microwave, too. In the evening we enjoyed the large crackling fire in the lobby and the homemade cookies (and Soup) available in the breakfast room. We brought our cookies to the fire and enjoyed them with a glass of wine (we brought our own wine). Beautiful. In the morning we had a wonderful breakfast (not included). My husband even used the outdoor heated pool -- in October! We would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for recommending the Olympic Lodge! I'm glad you enjoyed your bathroom--people seem to love having two sinks to make the morning ablutions that much easier. It’s nice to hear that you were also able to enjoy our breakfast bistro. Thank you again for such a lovely review and we hope to see you again soon!

When first arriving at the driveway to the Olympic Lodge, we were put off by all the commercial
sprawl around the property, thinking this Lodge would be located off by itself in some pristine wooded glen. We got over our disappointment, however, and went inside only to be captivated by
the magical way they have turned this stunning lodge into a sanctuary. The landscaping, fountains and trees placed strategically along the glass walled back of the Lodge make you instantly forget
The ugliness on the street out front. Our room looked out over the golf course, the mountains and those gorgeous trees and plantings. The rooms are wonderful, the bathrooms even better, with lots of great amenities, pillows and towels. We were very comfortable and happy here. The whole lodge is spanking clean and the decor is charming and eye pleasing. The bistro restaurant was the
best breakfast I had on this trip, just delicious ! It took awhile for our room to be ready, but we had
the best room in the hotel and it was the Crabfest weekend, so overall, they did a great job taking
care of all of us. The national parks were closed due to the govt. shutdown, but the Olympic Lodge
gave us some local beauty and hospitality for which we are grateful. I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Top floor facing the golf course !

We stayed at Olympic Lodge since the National Park lodges were closed due to the Government shut-down. We stayed on the third floor and our room was a nice size as was the bathroom. The toiletries smelled lovely and towels were good size and relatively soft. The Queen beds and pillows were semi-firm. The bathroom has a sink outside as well as in the bathroom. The carpet did have a couple of stains in the room entryway.
The desk clerks were helpful with any and all questions we had. The fireplace in the lobby was always glowing with a crackling fire. The hot tub and swimming pool were just off the lobby and towels were in the brown wicker trunk just before heading outside. Those towels are quite small and don't cover much, but helped from dripping across the lobby floor.
We did not eat breakfast in the on-site café, but instead walked about 3 minutes to a restaurant, Joshua's.
We would recommend and stay at this lodge in the future if we are ever in the area again.

We planned on a one night stay on our way from Seattle to Victoria and found the Olympic Lodge to be a wonderful place to stay. While the location was not easy walking distance from downtown it was still good. The rooms are basic but nicely appointed. The lobby with the large fireplace and comfortable seating was wonderful (but we expected it from the pics we saw before traveling) and the grounds were well maintained with a cool view of the adjacent golf course. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Overall the Lodge was a great value.

On a side note, we stumbled onto the Crab and Seafood Festival in downtown Port Angeles which was definitely worth visiting and a highlight of our mini vacation. The festivities, food, entertainment, and friendliness of the area residents was outstanding. The festival replaced our visit to Olympic Nat'l Park given our government's inability to function during our outing that had been planned 2 months prior. They should think of the little people.

I’m sorry that the government shut down inconvenienced your travels but being in Port Angeles during the Crab and Seafood Festival is a great alternative. It’s nice to hear that not only was our staff friendly but you found the locals to be accommodating as well. I hope that you’re able to make the trip over again soon so that you’re able to explore the Olympic National Park as you first planned on!

We stayed here on our way to a day hike in the olympic national forest. I was staying with a couple of friends and we had a lively debate whether this was a motel (my opinion) or a lodge (their's). So, I decided to go with a Motelodge, It tries to look like a lodge (A rustic fire place in the lobby, great big lawns out back, nice decor) but the amenities are purely motel like - granted, a good motel, but still a motel. the beds were very comfy, there was wi-fi, the rooms were big, check in and out were easy and while the parking lot is not big enough there is an auxiliary one close by (just ask about it in the reception). Breakfast was not included but they still charged extra for a third person I'm not sure why. Not overly cheap but not very expensive as well. all in all a good night stay, good location.

As far as I'm concerned, this is the only place to stay in Port Angeles. The place is well maintained, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Although I think the restaurant is a bit pricey and it's only open for breakfast, the food is good and ample.

I would recommend this hotel to anybody staying in the area for any reason.
