“Like staying in a college dorm”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2009

Motel has goods and not so goods. Goods were: Make your own waffles and a nice breakfast, Extra pillows were supplied when we asked, In the lobby there is a computer with free internet, there was a nice binder with local restaurant menus that was helpful.
The bads: It feels like a college dorm room with pasty looking whitewashed walls, small rooms, and a slight musty odor. Internet was painfully slow. I could hear the guy in the next room snoring ALL NIGHT.
You get what you pay for with this motel.

My wife stayed at this hotel in late September. The queen size room was average. It has 25" tv with only 32 channels. The hotel was noisy on the road side. The room had a desk and 2 chairs. The had an above average breakfast with waffles, hot and cold cereal, muffins, juice, and coffee. The also had a public computer in the lobby.

Why can't there be more of a choice in pillows? Not all of us like the "brick hard" kind. The over all appearance would be greatly improved if they replaced the hallway carpet. They should also clean up the entrance, coming in from the parking area.

I expected a budget room, but don't even try to tell me that was a no smoking room! I should have known somthing was up when I checked out the room and the window was wide open.It only had a slight odor then though. We turned on the ac ,took off for the day , and when we got back ....gross..

We paid a discounted room rate from Expedia and the room rate was still overpriced for a budget hotel. The rooms were depressing with few pictures and amenities. We stayed at other hotels on the peninsula for the same price and they were comparably deluxe accommodations! This place felt as though it is truly an investment property for the owners--forget the customer experience!

First the positives. Great staff, they helped me correct my date of stay (I was off one day on my internet booking), the manager had a large list of free maps with detailed instructions on how to get there at the counter. He gave us one for Hurricane Ridge. The rooms have great WiFi for free and no complex password or set-up. A decent Continental breakfast is included. Now the negatives. The hotel carpeting in the hallways is heavily stained. Our single King non smoking room on the third floor was very small and had very cheap furniture and even cheaper bathroom fixtures. The small TV did have a good selection of cable channels. The room developed a very weak sewer gas odor which would was annoying. We were on the highway side and there was a lot of traffic until after 11:00 PM so it was a bit noisy with the window cracked to keep the sewer gas away. Now as to the title of this post. The room was $119.00 plus tax. If we had it to do over again we would have stayed in a smaller non-chain motel as there are many of them and at least their prices are fair.

We just needed a place to hang our heads before going to Olympic National Park, and this place was okay. It's right on Hiway 101 a couple miles west of town and a mile or so from just about anything else. Not a place for culture or nightlife, but an acceptable place to sleep.

Our price was $104 per night grand total. The staff was polite and professional. The room was quiet, clean, and fully stocked. It featured full bath, air-conditioning, clock radio, phone, TV (24 channels), coffee maker, and hair dryer. The motel charges $1.50 for an in-room safe, but you can request the charge be removed. Free amenities included parking, hot breakfast buffet, local phone calls, and wireless internet access. On-site was a laundry room. A restaurant was adjacent, but you'll have to drive to anything else.

A fire alarm at 2:30 am caused an evacuation of the place, and we were informed when we could safely return. We never asked (and were never told) what exactly happened. This wasn't the motel's "fault," but we wished we could have found out why were sent out in the middle of the night.

If you're driving down the road and need a place to spend the night, this place is as good as any other.
