“OK ... but not OK”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2008

No frills, but the motel was clean, and the bed was comfortable -- about what we expected. Except for the toilet. The chain came off the stopper twice. The first time I fixed it myself so we could get to sleep without the toilet making noise non-stop and without waiting heaven knows how long for a maintenance person to come in late at night. The 2nd time, the following morning, we just let it go, as we were checking out momentarily. At least the person at the front desk made a note of the problem so the next person in that room wouldn't suffer the same inconvenience. The staff were very polite.

  • Liked — The bed was comfortable.
  • Disliked — I had to fix the toilet myself.

The room and hotel were clean but very basic. No frills.

There is a free continental breakfast with a few cereal choices, 2 juice choices, 2 muffin choices, and waffles, There was no fruit bagels, etc - very limited options.

Pros -
- clean room and bathroom
- comfortable bed
- heating/air-conditioning
- helpful friendly staff
- close to downtown (5 minute drive)
- cable

Cons -
- pillows (bring your own if you are picky!)
- thin walls

The rate we were quoted was $126.

I don't want to scare anyone away from this hotel. It is one of the nicer hotels in town (although the Best Western next door looked really nice) and was fine for us to stay at while passing through town. If you plan to spend a lot of time in your room or are looking for a luxury hotel, I wouldn't recommend staying here. If you are looking for a place to sleep while enjoying the natural beauty of the area - this hotel will serve you well.

  • Liked — cleanliness
  • Disliked — no frills, continental breakfast

The Super 8 is a motel, about like any other. A bit older, but they keep it fairly clean. Convenient location. It is what it is, just a decent place at a decent rate in terms of a spot to sleep and keep your luggage when on a trip. No problems. Nothing stands our as either really good or bad. No bad smells and everything seemed to be clean, that was the main thing. DO make sure you get a non smoking room, as the smoking ones are difficult to get the smell out of. Very close to Olympic national Park, which is quite beautiful. Recomment you stay at lake Crescent Lodge, if you can get rooms there. Smaller, pricier, but a great experience. All in all, Super 8 is a decent place to stay.

  • Liked — location, fairly clean
  • Disliked — nothing, it was okay, just another motel but cleaner than most for sure

This Super 8 provides basic accommodations, and nothing more. The breakfast is fair but nothing special. The room was clean but small. Bathroom exhaust fan didn't seem to do anything. This hotel allows pets which probably explains all the stains on the hall carpets. Desk staff was probably the best thing about this hotel.

  • Liked — Desk staff.
  • Disliked — They allow pets.

The Super 8 Port Angeles was a nice, clean, affordable, and very convenient hotel for access around the Olympic Peninsula. The room was very clean and the morning breakfast enjoyable. I would stay there again if we were in the area.

  • Liked — Clean affordable quality with upgrades that rival higher end features of the Hotels costing twice as much in the area.
  • Disliked — nothing

I stayed here last weekend. I went hiking with my family around Hurricane ridge and then to crescent lake. I found the beds very comfortable here and I normally don't like hotel beds. The breakfast was a great. Waffles, muffins, cereal, PB&J sandwiches. We stayed on the 2nd floor and it looked remodeled with new furniture.

The room was very clean and the front desk were very accomodating. We had asked for extra pillows and towels and we got them immediately. A couple of other motels in the area were truly run down. For the price and the quality of room. .this was really good bargain.

  • Liked — Quality rooms for great price.

I was heading up to Victoria and didn't make the ferry so I decided to just stay the night at this place. I've been to quite a few Super 8's and I must say that this is probably the best one that I've ever stayed at. The Lobby looked to be remodeled about 50% and my room had pretty updated furniture and amenities.

I chose to stay on the 2nd floor because it was easier to get to the breakfast and out the door for the 1st ferry. My room was clean, the bathroom was quite clean and the breakfast was great. I had juice and cereal and took a few muffins with me. I would highly recommend this place for anyone. It's a great value. The rooms are as good as many a Best Western that I've stayed at. If I ever have a need, I'll definitely choose to stay over there again.

  • Liked — The overall quality of the room furniture and room facilities
  • Disliked — No Elevator
