The outside is a little run down but it was only for one night and we already had a reservation. We booked a 3rd floor room with a view. When we got in the room it was okay but hot. So we tried to open the windows and guess what they don't open! What!!! There's on ac! How can you even breathe. Asked for another room with windows that opened and front desk guy was very pleasant about changing it for us. The 2nd room was better only because of the windows. It seems they are trying but the decorations of fake dusty flowers are gross. As was said before breakfast is very basic. If you plan on being there less than 12 hours okay. And if ladies alone I would stay somewhere else.

We stayed here two nights while exploring the Northern part of Olympic National Park. Our room was clean and comfy. The wifi worked as did the mini fridge. It wasn't anything fancy, but I think it was a good value for what we paid. The breakfast was very simple - cereal, packaged oatmeal, juice, and assorted packaged pastries, but it was a nice bonus considering the low price. The hotel has a good location, and enough parking. They seemed to be in the process of updating the place. The service was friendly.

Room Tip: We asked for a room away from the stairs and with another room on only one side - We didn't have...

Enjoyed our stay here. Within easy walking distance of the ferry (15 minutes), downtown and several good restaurants. Breakfast was fruit, oatmeal, cereal or/and a danish. Seating for 4 or take to your room. Fan in the room gets the air moving and provides some white noise to drown out road noise. Helpful front desk. Comfortable bed, clean property, fluffy towels!, wi-fi sometimes slow. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Probably should be upstairs.

The room here was really good, but it doesn't have interior corridors, so you open onto the parking place. The desk manager was really helpful.

I went down the street to get breakfast, since theirs was not much. The area of town is OK, but you have to hike a few blocks to get "downtown."

It looks to me like the new management has started really working to upgrade this motel, but they have a way to go. At this point I would look for somewhere else to stay, but in the future I might reconsider, depending on the improvements and final price.

I have traveled a lot this summer and here is what I mean by my rating system: 1: Unacceptable; 2. Acceptable, but I would stay somewhere else next time; 3. Acceptable and I would stay here again at this price point; 4. Above average and I would pay more to stay here than I paid for this trip; 5 Ridiculously fabulous. (Sometimes I think people aren't sure what other reviewers mean by their ratings.)

They are struggling to claim a 3-star rating by offering renovation and some 3-star amenities. However, our small room(s) were without conditioning (the rooms were hot), no closet or hooks to hang anything, a badly sticking bedroom door, and with obvious amateurish maintenance, repairs and painting, our rooms failed to meet the standards of even 2-stars. Their 'free continental breakfast' room (in their lobby) was a severe disappointment, offered only 4 chairs total.

There was nothing awful about this place, but I definitely wasn't happy with it for the price that we paid. The walls were very thin; I could hear the TV from the next room as well as the traffic outside, which kept me awake. The room itself was dingy and worn--not very pleasant to spend time in. It was clean, at least, and having breakfast included was nice but it was nothing special. After one night here we switched to the Super 8, which was definitely worth the extra money.
