“Nice and clean. Average breakfast. Smallish room.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

Nothing bad to say. We had a nice stay. Room was smaller than expected. Pool was warm and not crowded. Small, but okay exercise area. Fast elevator to the 4th floor.

Breakfast could use a little more effort. The milk was warm and the bagels stale. Waffle machine worked well, the kids loved it. Awful eggs. Good sausage and biscuits and gravy.

February 2013: the exit to Arkwright Road is a disaster area. Forget about getting across to the restaurants on the other side of the exit. When leaving the hotel turn left then take the right onto Sheridan Road and go up 1-2 miles to the next exit then go south. It will save you 15-20 minutes of waiting.

This country inn has gone a bit downhill since our last stay here. Start with only one ice machine to serve all four floors located on the ground floor. The internet service was pretty weak in our room, whic was kind of cramped compared to others we have stsyed in. The road construction, which has been ongoing for at least three yesrs ud really getting old and makes getting to yhis property less than ideal. Staff was courteous and breakfast all right except they ran out of coffee! Probably will try a different hotel next tine.

My husband and I stopped in Macon while making our first drive from FL to TN. This hotel was right off the interstate. We had a large, clean, comfortable room for an incredible price. The hotel also had a wonderful breakfast buffet. Our only complaint was that the hotel could use some better noise insulation. My husband was awakened by a nearby train around 3 am and by footsteps from the room above us. We were also able to hear the toilet flushing in the next room. We would probably stay here again, but ask for a room on the top floor.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floor.

Stayed here one night while driving home from Florida to Tennessee. It was a few dollars more but worth every penny. We had a nice lean room with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was better than most and the attendant was very helpful. It was a place I would recommend to a woman traveling alone!

I hate to give a poor rating to a hotel that is new, clean, the staff nice, and the location very convenient, but ultimately if you cannot sleep, it's not going to be a place you would recommend to others. In a word .... TRAINS. All night, at least one every couple of hours throughout the evening, and they darn near pass right through the room. If you've seen the movie "My Cousin Vinnie" depicting the experience of staying in a hotel next to a train track ... it's like that. Really. If anyone tells you they don't have earthquakes in middle Georgia, they haven't stayed at this hotel. Another grievance: The air conditioning in my room would not stay at the temperature I had selected and periodically reset to a higher temperature. Presumably this is to save the hotel money on utilities, perhaps? On those rare occasions when I drifted off to sleep between trains, I was awakened because the room was hot. This hotel would be mostly OK, but for the location. In it's present situation, it would better suited as a medical facility for coma victims, because they would be the only ones capable of sleeping here, and even then I'm not sure.

Rooms were nice and clean but there are LOUD Trains that shake the building all night long! Funny thing is the lady checking in in front of me joked about a train and the lady assured her there wasn't a train problem. We counted nine from midnight to 8 am.

We were in Macon for a convention on October 15-17. We stayed in a standard room with 2 Queens on the 4th floor. The room was nice and very clean. The hotel seemed very well kept up but I did notice that a little cleaning and cosmetic work on the walls was required on the hallways. Front Desk clerk Elise was very nice, helpful, and had a great smile. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. The only disadvantage I saw was the road construction in the area was horrendous. If you have somewhere to be give yourself time because if you don't traffic will hold you up especially in the morning and afternoon. Also, the hotel is within a reasonable distance from many restaurants, downtown, Bass Pro Shops, etc.
