“Great Place to HIKE!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

Lots of trails, with my favorite being the trail that leaves the main entrance and goes to and around Star Fort Pond. It is great!

“A hidden treasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

This is a great place to see a Revolutionary war star fort. It just amazes me that it is still there. After walking through the town site you can walk for miles down historic Charlestowne road, through beautiful woodlands to the pond or see a forgotten cemetery on a different trail. Sometimes they have re-enactors.

“Ninety-Six is a hidden jewel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2012

If you are planning to visit this National Historic Site, please take a few minutes when you arrive to watch the short film found in the Visitor's Office where the park rangers offices are located. This puts everything into perspective and allows you to get a sense of the importance of this site in our American history. Another suggestion, bring your National Park Passport so it can be stamped at the front desk. (If you don't have one, get one at this office). The park is beautiful, clean and free (unless you care to leave a donation). We're so glad we took a few minutes to visit. Now I know why it was called Star Fort.
