“A great time had by all!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

My family thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Distinction. We were a family of five and had two beautiful rooms right next to each other, both with awesome views of the town, valley and mountains. The day we arrived was a day of drama- record rain had seen the bridge north of Fox get wiped, which also took out all forms of communication for 24 hours and the power for a few ours. We felt trapped in Fox and had to reschedule our plans after our two nights there. Despite the stress they must have been experiencing due to the many problems, the staff were fantastic and so helpful. We ended up thoroughly enjoying our time in Fox and we all agreed that the accommodation was a large part of it. Don't stay anywhere else, the Distinction Fox Glacier is great. It has modern, comfortable and well appointed rooms and bathrooms. They have taken time to think of the little things that mean so much. The extra sink in the living area is a great idea- more places should have that. We also loved the cosy communal dining room and the breakfasts were great too! Thank you so much.

The room was nice sized and comfortable. They had to bring me a fan, since there is no air conditioning, but the fan worked fine. Ate breakfast and dinner there. The food was adequate, but I would have like more fresh fruit and vegetables. It was pretty much like staying in a nice motel in the States.

Great Motel/Hotel, spacious, spotless, large bathroom , separate big bath and shower, motel is in Main Street, nice alpine views. Uncover parking which is handy when it rains handy to good restaurants although there is one in the complex which served an excellent breakfast ( included )

Stayed for 3 nights in June 2012. Great large rooms at affordable prices! Host was was very friendly as he prepared and served our breakfast. View of the whole town from our balcony!!

Rooms are clean and is only a 50 mtr walk to the restaurants and departure area for the Fox Glacier hike. Would not go to New Zealand without staying here!

Our stay was only short but we were greeted warmly, our room was very nice and spacious with an awesome view. The bed was extremely comfortable with a modern bathroom and the room had a cosy ambience, with a modern bathroom, Hubby really liked the CD's that were provided in the room "well done". Management and staff were really nice and helpful and made us feel very welcome, a full Breakfast was included which was a bonus and they allowed us to use the guest Lounge Area the following day even though we were only booked in overnight. We would definitely stay there again should we get the opportunity to go back and would highly recommend this Hotel to family, friends and our Travel Agent. A Helicopter flight to the Glacier was a highlight of our trip and should be a must if you get the chance "do it".

Its not a boutique hotel, a motel. but the room is spacious, bed is comfortable, bathroom is clean.

Stayed here for two days on a recent trip through Fox Glacier. The hotel is much nicer on the inside than it looks from the outside. Clean, modern design with a pleasantly modern bathroom. Location is fantastic, of course. We especially enjoyed the excellent variety on the breakfast buffet but loved being served a made-to-order, hot breakfast in the charming dining room. Easy parking close to our room. Nice staff and beautiful view of the mountains. Highly recommended.
