Owner description: Our Marlborough winery and tasting room are nestled in amongst our vineyards in the heart of Sauvignon Blanc country just outside of the town of Renwick. At the entrance to Forrest wines stands a prominent stone wall built of the very stones that come from the surrounding area of the Wairau Valley. Beyond the wall the drive way winds through our oldest Sauvignon Blanc vineyard, over the small stone bridge and into a beautiful park setting, with willow trees and a duck pond, picnic tables, badminton, tennis and patenque. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly, with toys for children of all ages. You may even catch a glimpse of Frankie the family Border Collie, she is so welcoming. The tasting room has a casual kiwi feel with couches, bean bags and outdoor furniture. A large variety of wines is on offer, a chance to taste a couple of your favourites or be adventurous and try a tasting tray with your choice of six wines. We pride ourselves on providing informative discussions about our wines, winemaking and our region. A selection of picnic nibbles is available for light lunches with cheeses, antipasto, smoked mussels and more. Please ask the cellar door staff.Wine tours of the vineyard and winery are available by appointment.Open 7 days 10am-4.30pm2011 Holidays - Closed on these dates below: New Year's Day 1st JanuaryGood Friday 22nd AprilMarlborough Anniversary Day 31st OctoberChristmas Day 25th DecemberBoxing Day 26th DecemberMarlborough has one of the world’s greatest wine trails: fabulous wine, breathtaking scenery, a warm climate and relaxed people clustered in one small grape growing region (approximately 14 x 7 kilometres). This is a fabulous idea. Select the wine you wish to taste from those available on the day - they make up a platter of 6 and you can taste at your leisure.
Whitestone cheese and olives available to purchase as well.
Definitely recommend.

“Great cellar door and wines!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

I enjoys taking friends to this winery because of the tasting trays. You can sit back and appreciate their array of wines at your own pace. Bridget and John are friendly and always supporting community ventures.

“Another good winery”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

Liked the friendliness and knowledge of the staff member who conducted the wine tasting for us. Interesting to learn how Rose wines came to be - unplanned. Just another fine example of how Marlborough wines continue to evolve.

“Aromatics Heaven!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

What an amazing job the Doctors have done over time with their wines. We were welcomed and treated to a one on one wine tasting with the manager of the Cellar Door. It was one of the first Cellar Doors we visited when in Marlborough, but had been the one I wanted to go to! And I was pleased that I got there. I met the wife (doctor) and the Marketing Manager. They really do a great job and are very knowledgeable and happy to impart the knowedge. A must see!

“Good sampling”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

We were able to select a platter of six different wines to taste which was the only place we were offered this so we could choose to suit our own taste. Also enjoyed some nibbles to soak up things. An attractive driveway and nice and flat!
