cafe sandspit is one of the best places I have been for service, cuisine and surroundings. I have traveled widely across the world and I would recommend cafe sandspit for anyone who wants delicious and thoughtful food and great coffee or wine through to an inspiring moment with the sea and sky right beside them. Young and not-so-young, families, couples, business meetings - it is a place for everyone, and with style. Note that you book for the evenings, and as long as there is space, you will be able to make that booking. Otherwise cafe sandspit is reliably open from 10-3 every day of the week.

“Lovely lunch. Shhh......”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

I was up from Christchurch so took my Gran and uncle their.
Food was beautiful, scallop salad was just fantastic and very reasonable pricing.
It's like finding a little secret treasure as it's not widely advertised.
Untouched and beautiful

“Great view, great host”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

We popped in to the cafe recently for a coffee and cake. It is situated on the edge of the estuary, looking out to Kawau Island. It was a lovely day; the birds were singing, the waves were lapping and the boats were moving quietly in to the wharf and out again. We were looked after very well by the cafe owner, who chatted with us and told us a little about the cafe. A great spot to eat, and a friendly and welcoming owner. We would go there again.
