“Great farmstay for families.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013 via mobile

I stayed in my campervan and in the dorm room. The atmosphere is like being part of the family when I was at A Kiwi Farmstay. We fed the goats, lambs, cows, pig, ducks and chickens every day, and gathered eggs from the hen house.

I stayed in the dorm rooms and in my campervan. Staying in the dorm is nice because you get to join in the family life happening in the lounge and kitchen. I gave the place a '3' for cleanliness because it is a farm... there will be mud on your gumboots and it isn't a place suited for neat-freaks!

Simon gave me a tour of the self-contained cottage which is really nice and looks like a comfortable place for a family to stay. And the place as a whole is very kid-friendly.

If you are looking for a place near Auckland that feels far away, and want to be part of a kiwi experience I recommend giving A Kiwi Farmstay try.

Our kids (ages 13 & 15) reckon it was one of our best holidays ever, and are super keen to go back! they loved interacting with the animals, and simon was great at including them in helping to look after them. The farmstay is rustic and relaxed, the kids loved riding the motorbike, and a visit to the range in warkworth was a fun way to end our stay. Simon was a wonderful host, & helped make our children's stay there so much fun. Thanks heaps Simon for giving our family a great weekend away!

Room Tip: We stayed in the family cottage

After spending a few days with Simon on the farm, I was voted best Mum ever!!!!! My 8 year old had such a wonderful time, it is her new favourite place, she has already booked in for her 9th birthday in a few months time. The animals are just so kind and friendly, so is the host Simon and his family. I highly reccomend that you book in with the kids for a few days for a really great value family adventure. I asked my daughter what she liked the best, she could not decide between feeding and hanging out with the animals on the farm, horse riding, the motorbike rides, fishing or the bonfire........Actually I could not decide either, it was all great!

Room Tip: I would book in advance, especially in the school holidays.........

Simon's farm is an in creditable place for u to spending some time if u'd like to have experience in a traditional kiwi farm life. They have pig, sheep , goat, chicken duck and cows, really funny to feed them everyday n play with them. Simon is open minded, always kind n nice to tell u everything u want to know. Stay in his farm was really an enjoyable experience, wish to come bk again one day! missing Sophie n Lukah, say hello to them! Good luck!

We recently had a fantastic weekend at Simon's farm stay. Simon is a wonderful host and he is great with children. My daughter aged 11 enjoyed her stay enormously - chasing rabbits, feeding lambs, horse riding etc. and playing with Simon's kids. The farm is in a lovely part of NZ and I enjoyed a great run in the countryside.

Simon and his animals are very welcoming and make you feel comfortable right away. It's a relaxed atmosphere and Simon cares about everyone being satisfied. It was great fun feeding the animals as well as riding the motorbike!
Thank you so much for everything!
