“The Regional Park that has it all!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

Tawharanui Reg. Park, about an hour north of Auckland on the east coast, gives you unspoiled beaches, long & sandy, with rocky headlands, rolling Farm Parkland, native bush & birds, an away-from-the-day-visitors basic camp area; a wonderful, uncrowded, scenic spot for a family picnic. We visited in Winter/Spring - I think Tawharanui is an all-year-round attraction, one of the best of our Auckland Regional Parks.

“Fantastic Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013

What a great find Tawharanui Regional Park was. The beach is fantastic, there was great surf and a very pleasant afternoon. It has good parking and all the amenities needed at a beach.

“Fantastic Regional Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

A fantastic beach and bush reserve an hour or so north of Auckland.
The beaches are among my favorites of any in the world, sparkling sand, clean sea, waves to body surf on, a large picnic area above the beach.
The bush and walking tracks are serene with stunning views and a huge array of native bird life and trees.
Whether you are a tourist or a citizen, this is a fantastic place to go to.

“Bird sancuary, Sun and Surf”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

This is a predator free bird sanctuary, a working farm, surrounded by long white sandy beaches perfect for walking along, surfing, diving or taking the kids swimming. If the beach is not your thing or the sun gets to hot take a bush walk and listen to the native birds sing. Take a tent and stay the night in the campground, you could hear a kiwi
