“Wonderful Hospitality”

Keith and Margaret were perfect hosts, The breakfast was fantastic as were the wine and canapes offered before we went out in the evening. The views from our room were fantastic. A nice relaxing stay for a couple of days.

Killyrudden on the Coromandel Peninsula - what a perfect place to relax and reflect on all the interesting places you've seen in NZ. From our fabulously comfortable room, with french doors opening on to a balcony with table, chairs AND hot tub, we had breathtaking views of Tairua harbour with lush vegetation and mountains as a backdrop. The hospitality from Keith and Margaret was the best we had had out of nearly 4 weeks traveling in the South and North Island. Great facilities with tea/coffee/biscuits and fridge with brilliant breakfasts and complimentary pre-dinner drinks and snacks, they were informative about the area, with suggestions on what to do and see - nothing seemed too much trouble. Supremely clean, we spent 3nights in this little oasis and gave it ten out of ten.

We are on a 2 1/2 week trip through New Zealand and the accomodations were arranged by our travel agency. Unfortunately there was only a single night at this great place in the itinerary.
We arrived after a 400 km trip from the north where we had stayed the night before and the welcome was excellent - exactly what we needed.
The location of the B&B is outstanding and the hosts are extremely helpful and friendly (including a welcome reception in the early evening with drinks and snacks).
We did not find anything that was less than perfect and consequently the rating must be a perfect 10 (or here at this webiste: 5 of 5).
As mentioned above, we definitely would have liked to stay longer.

My wife and I spent two weeks on the north and south islands, and this was was the nicest place we stayed, hands down. Nicest room, fantastic bed, well appointed, GREAT breakfast, super nice host and hostess, and a great jumping off point for the east side of the peninsula. I want to stress how nice the hosts were again. We spent at least an hour swapping great stories with them during and after breakfast, and then again right around sunset with a glass of wine or cold beer while we decompressed after our traveling during the day. There is no better B&B in or around Tairua and we would recommend the Killyrudden to anyone who is in the area.

We actually stayed Nov 2009 but completely forgot to write a review. We spent two nights and enjoyed every minute! The rooms were very nice and well presented including the wonderful private bathroom. The gardens were amazing to explore and walk around in. Although not expansive, there was always something to see and discover. We enjoyed a night cap with the owners and they called and booked us into our kayak tour for us, was wonderful!

The breakfast menu was great! She cooked whatever you really wanted and the spread was just great! They are a short walk to some great walks, ie. cliff walk, and easy to find.

We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the Tuis and enjoyed the hot tub to ourselves all night.

We really enjoyed our stay at Killyrudden and are hoping to get back up there soon. It was by far one the better accommodations that we have stayed in as the standard in NZ is below what we consider average.

Thanks for the wonderful stay!

Great location, lovely hosts ( I especially enjoyed the 18 pm meetings on the balcony with beer and wine :-) ). Highly recommended, we spend new years eve there and had a fantastic view onto the harbour and the firework at night. And if you are lucky (Älike us) you can here the Kiwi (the bird) in the night.....quite rare in nature!

We stayed 2 nights with Keith and Margaret at the end of May. Their location has a fantastic view of the harbor...as a matter of fact, the picture I took from the balcony outside out room is probably the best one of our entire trip. Besides the room with balcony and the food and the hot tub and the cleanliness and the wine in the evening these people are so kind and helpful. They helped us with restaurants and reservations for the train at the Brickel (?) pottery and advice on where to go and what to see. I can't imagine that they could have done anything more.
