“Paradise! Amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2011

My wife and I celebrated our 20th Anniversary at Hahei Oceanfront and it was the most amazing experience. Joe and Raewyn made us feel right at home as soon as we entered the door. My wife almost cried when she saw the views. We spent two weeks in New Zealand and the three nights we spent at Hahei Oceanfront were our favorite! It is located just minutes from Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove. Joe and Raewyn gave great advice about where/what we should do. What everyone has said in the reviews about the breakfast is true! Great homemade museli, and eggs, etc., again the best we had on our trip in NZ. I know in reviews you should list one thing you did not like, well I honestly could not think of one! We are now totally ruined with B&B because no other one can live up to this one! Thank you Joe and Raewyn for some amazing memories!

We stayed at Hahei oceanfront B&B for 2 nights and we were looking forward to stay there to relax after our 3 weeks hectic trip around New Zealand.
The house is absolutely stunning. Refined design and comfy features all around the house. The breakfast is also to die for, the home made muesli is delicious and if you like, you would have omelette and bacon. You won't need to eat lunch. The breakfast is served on the terrace facing the ocean, which is the greatest feeling ever. Nice attention, there was a french flag on the breakfast table, which we really appreciated. The house is located right at the beach, you are litterally 30 seconds away from the water. It is the most relaxing feeling ever.
The bedroom was tastefully decorated and the ensuite bathroom was incredible. The only thing that I would say is that the room would not have a full view on the ocean, which was a little deceptive.
The only thing to remember is that Hahei Oceanfront is a B&B and not a hotel! If you like to have your privacy and have a romantic getaway, I would not recommended this place. The hosts are very knowledgeable about the area and very kind in any possible way, but we like to have our privacy and not have to force ourselves to interact with people when we don't feel like it. Same for the breakfast, you have to be sitting with the other guests which we did not like so much. Finally, I think the place was a little overpriced. I would still recommend this place if you like the B&B ambiance as this is the best in Hahei.

We recently toured the east coast of the North Island staying in the areas surrounding the 3 bays; from the Doubtless Bay to Bay of Islands and finally the beautiful Bay of Plenty in the Coromandel peninsula. The highlight of our trip has to be our 3 day stay at the stunning Oceanfront in Hahei. We were truly overwhelmed at the beauty of this place and the warmth and genuine friendliness of the hosts, Joe and Raewyn. Oceanfront is even better than the photos.. and you pinch yourself often that you are right there , on that stunning beachfront!! Breakfast is served out on deck and the view is one not to be missed. Our room was soo comfortable and we felt spoilt with a stunning view from our window. Our praises go not only to this magnificent house and setting but equally to the gorgeous couple , Joe and Raewyn who really make it! They are passionate about the area and recommended restaurants, sights to see and do and loads of interesting facts about the area. Their attention to detail is special - even organizing a small whale pod to cruise by in the bay one morning during breakfast !!! :)) A highlight for us that one! Dont miss this wonderful place.... its worth every cent :)

Room Tip: Oceanfront has 3 available rooms and they are all stunning!!

Coromandel peninsula offers different landscapes. It's always interesting to stop a few times along the coast when you are travelling there. In this case don't forget Hahei : maybe not a big town with few restaurants but a good spot for the beach and the actvities around. If you stop there be confident: choose the gem of the place: hahei oceanfront. A house on the beach like in malibu, a tastefully architecture, nice and large rooms. You are the feet in the ocean, the scenery is the horizon, the landscape is superb. Your hosts are attentive and really friendly with always a good recommandation for the area exploration. And the breakfast is to....discover

My husband and I spent 50 (not enough) days touring New Zealand, staying mostly in B&Bs. But one of the best one was Hahei Oceanfront. The setting is magnificent, the house very comfortable and pieceful but over all it is Raewyn and Joe’s hospitality that made this house so charming. In the morning we enjoyed the homemade ingredients of our breakfast overlooking the beach.

From the moment you step through the front door to the moment you sadly depart you will not find better in the Coromandel. The warm and personal welcome from Raewyn and Joe, the outstanding views, the super clean , spacious bedrooms with fluffy towels and crisp white linen. Hahei Oceanfront cannot fail to impress and amaze. Even at peak season rates this offers great value. The breakfasts, often taken on the sun deck , feature fresh fruits, ground coffee, cereals and a cooked breakfast cooked to perfection. Raewyn offers sound advice on places to eat and where to visit in the area. We had just one regret and that was that we did not stay longer.
