“Loved our stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

Loved the ambience, the hospitality, the friendly people and the little black bird who came to share our breakfast out on our deck every morning! The gardens are gorgeous and waking up to the sound of the bellbirds was fantastic!

Great little bunch of accommodation houses. I was a little concerned about staying here due to the number of cabins onsite, however they are all sited very nicely to give the individual verandas as much privacy as possible. And it works well!
Very nicely kitted out and the continental breakfast is all you could ask for. A very peaceful and private stay yet right in the heart of Hahei.
The Church Restaurant onsite was also very good, so good in fact we ate there both nights instead of bothering to go out elsewhere.

Such a lovely place in a most beautiful setting. Finely appointed Cottage like rooms, we were made very welcome and left very much to our own devices. Clean well equipped rooms all on a ground floor, with their own aspect of the surrounding woods and countryside. The wood-burner in each cottage is an absolute plus. Only thing lacking was an oven, other than that a well equipped kitchen. Hahei is a lovely little seaside resort with a fine Beach and a wonderful cliff walk to Cathedral cove which is an absolute must see!!!

Stayed here for two nights so we could see Cathedral Cove (reviewed elsewhere) and Hot Water beach.(reviewed elsewhere). We arrived around 1:00pm and our room was ready. We stayed in one of the 4 studio rooms that are all joined together. The rooms were lovely and clean with a queen sized bed and a single bed that we used to put our luggage on.You could sit on the patio out the back looking into the gardens and have a cup of coffee which we did a few times. It was interesting at night as the studio room we stayed in number 4 built like a litte church had a window near the roof which from the bed you could look out and see the Stars. Just a lovely touch. As it was winter the Church restuarant was closed and we arrived on a Tuesday so very little was open in the area. Oh I forgot to mention there is free wifi and Spades and towels so you can go down to Hot Water beach at low tide and dig in the sand

Room Tip: Studio rooms are joined together and cheaper other rooms are not joined but you don't here any n...

this was our favourite accommodation on our holiday around new zealand - the facilities were excellent and the studio was lovey and spacious, the location is central and close to all the local attractions such as cathedral cove and hot water beach. the location was peaceful and you could hear the sea and the waves - very highly recommened!

It was our first night but what a lovely place. Our week in New Zealand started with two nights in The Church Accomodation. Great locaton and a great place. We had dinner in the Church Restaraunt whcih again was beautiful. We walked down to Cathedral cove twice (once for sunrise pics), we experenced Hot Water Beach and as if that wasnt enough Hahei even put on a Tractor parade on our last day.

The only downside was that we left a bottle of Duty Free Bundy Rum in the cabin. We called to advise the staff and suggested they enjoy it - we certainly hope they did!

Room Tip: They are all good

Thanks for your comments.Glad you enjoyed your stay, and yes ,we tried to get your rum back to you but seem to recall you were in Auckland and off back to Oz.We still have it and await our staff party when we shall sample it,unless you return in the interim ,whereupon we shall just be the custodians.Cheers

After 2 weeks of travel The Church gave us the re-boot that we needed. We had a cottage without a TV; it gave us the opportunity to read, relax and sleep in! In the attached cottages however, you can hear your neighbours but everyone was quite respectful.
One bonus is they provide beach towels and spades if you plan to go to the beach / Cathedral Cove or Hot Water Beach.

You should try the home made muesli it was delicious!

We really enjoyed our stay and would come back!
We did not have the opportunity to dine at The Church, we did however take the ferry to Whitianga and ate dinner at Wild Hog's, it was great!

Room Tip: I would book a cottage that is not attached.
