“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2014

Thinking the 35-40min walk to the cove was a bit over-exaggerated, we set off... It was long and tiring - especially with the heat and sun beating down on our backs. But the journey there was as interesting and beautiful as the destination itself. Scenery to marvel and several stops at bays along the way are well worth the hike. The snorkelling was mediocre at best, but fun nonetheless. Definitely a must see place!

“There's a reason you'll see so many people here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2014

If you're expecting solitude at Cathedral Cove, you'll be seriously disappointed. This is a very popular spot, but you can see why. Definitely worth the walk. I'd recommend stopping off at the other spots (Stingray Bay and Gemstone Bay), too. While snorkeling at these two latter spots is widely touted, anyone with experience snorkeling in Hawaii or Indonesia will be pretty disappointed with the diversity here. Still, it's a lovely spot worth a look, and a chance for a lunch spot with a little less traffic.

“Stunning scenery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014

Although we visited in their winter (we didn't have trouble parking) the weather was gorgeous. The walk there was challenging but so worth it. The beach was magical with little waterfalls, falling on the beach and the views were so amazing with azure sky and sea. Wish that we had had time to kayak around the islands. It was definitely worth the effort I could have spent the entire day there but sadly, we had to move on.

“Another slice of NZ Heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2014 via mobile

Have been before a few times on this beautiful walk to this stunning place in NZ. We are staying for over a week and will be doing this a few more times whilst here. Hahei is not the easiest place to get to unless you are purposely going there to stay for at least a few days however, shouldn't be missed if you have the opportunity. Magic.

“Lovely spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2014 via mobile

We paddled to this pretty beach in kayaks (part of a tour arranged by Cathedral Cove Kayaks). The beach was great, the hike through the cave fun, and the body surfing a blast. Well worth it.
