“Don't miss the loo with a view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

You get to Cathedral Cove via a walkway from above Hahei, about a 45 minute walk through bush with great views. The cove is stunning, with beautiful pinky white rocks weathered into smooth shapes, and the cave itself connecting this cove to the next. The breakers were quite wild when we were here, the whole place atmospheric. And when you need a comfort break, a trip to the loo gives you a seat with a view across the bay.

“Awesome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

Cathedral Cove in Hahei is around 40 minutes going down. This place is magnificent. The rock formation is amazing. It's beach is so pristine. Really worth visiting.

“Wellbeaten Track for a Good Reason”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

We got to Hahei in the late afternoon and got a carpark for Cathedral Cove. If you go a rush hour then be prepared to walk some distance or take a shuttle bus.Everyone comments on the 45 minute walk but the variety of visitors - very young to middle-aged seems to suggest it's manageable enough with no special gear or level of fitness. At times it was like main street! Once there we enjoyed the spectacular beach, sea views and the huge natural cathedral-shaped hole in the cliff with another breathtaking view through to the other side. What more can I say except it is a MUST SEE if you come this way.

“Gorgeous Place but Tough to Hike”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

It takes a 45-minute hike one way to get there. There are steep steps and rocky paths that you have to take to get there too. But once you reach the spot, it's worth it. Just make sure to bring at least 1 liter or more of water per person as you will get really thirsty on a hot day. Don't forget to bring a good camera too as it is the kind of place that you won't visit often especially if you live far away.

“Stunning!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

I loved the walk to this amazing beach. Yes, it's definitely a busy tourist attraction, but was still a spectacular spot to visit. Best to go early in the day because it is a 45 minute walk each way and you want plenty of time to enjoy the beach once you're there. There are toilets down by the beach so you can pack a lunch and enjoy it - as long as you don't mind how busy it is.
