“Perfect for what was needed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

Stayed for a wedding in a little cabin . I thought it was quite expensive for the price as it was certainly very basic and small . Still it was perfect for what we needed which was just a bed for an 8 hour sleep.

I would hesitate to pay $130 a night for a week ($900) in this cabin though. You could stay in a bach much cheaper / larger and could sleep more people (if organised ahead of time)

It was close to the beach which was great and the service leading up to staying was fantastic .

Thank you for your response, we're glad that you enjoyed your visit with us. Our Cabins are priced for convenience and proximity. Later in the year the rates are reduced and the beach is still perfect!

We stayed in a Kitchen Cabin, with a small kitchen and a private porch. The shared camp bathroom was close by. Our facilities were just fine and the staff were helpful. With restaurants and the beach close by, we had everything we needed for the first couple of days of our vacation.

Me and my partner stayed in the kitchen cabin 10a. A beautiful, quiet, friendly place to stay. Equipt kitchen with beautiful deck to eat on. Close to showers and toilets and private. Although there was another room on the end it was still pleasant. Hahei was a spectacullar choice of stay and we will be back. The staff are friendly and were cleaning all the time around the bbq area etc. Affordable accomodation but moneys worth. I highly reccomend them. I will be going back soon with my children. I noticed the playground and family feeling around the camp grounds, and is safe for the children. I will be hiring 10a and the room on the end next time for a more private stay. great getaway....Thanks Hahei...

Room Tip: 10a and 10b are great for a private stay with a large group. Own bbq area etc...

We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay. Cabin 10 is a great cabin for a family and booking the room at the other end means that you essentially have a 2 bedroom kitchen cabin close to the main facilities and still only a short distance to the beach. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and we look forward to seeing you and your family in the future.

My partner and I had kitchen cabin 10A and I was puzzled to say the least. One end held a double bed, 1 set of bunks and a single bed. You walked from this room (which had a door that couldn't be locked) into a massive full sized kitchen with a bench table and bench seating; the room had a small TV. Beyond the kitchen was another room with bunk beds, the door to this room was locked, later in the evening it was occupied. The set up was as if we were part of a camping group but were the only ones to turn up. I felt rather uncomfortable with the arrangement and wondered if it was a shared kitchen (apparently not- the occupants of the other room came silently late in the night and left the same way in the morning).

There wasn't anything wrong with the accommodation- the hired linen was clean and fresh, the bed comfortable. The kitchen had an abundance of everything and again was in perfect order. There was a lovely table setting outside on the deck. The showers and toilets were close by and were immaculate.

This cabin was obviously meant for a very large camp group and perhaps if reception had explained that, I would have thought, "gee lucky us, all this room, great". Instead I was uncertain, uncomfortable and glad it was only one night.

On a positive note the location is magnificent- what a beautiful area of NZ and the park itself is in an ideal spot and as previously stated the common area facilities are very good.

Good Morning, thank you for taking the time to explain your concerns. This particular cabin is available for large groups or families, however the connecting door can be locked and used as 2 separate units, as was the case when you stayed. We apologise for not clearly explaining the configuration and regret your night was uncomfortable as a result. We will pass on your compliments to the team regarding facilities, and hope that we will see you again in the future.

We stayed in Kitchen cabin and we had a great time. The beach is just few metres away, although you do not see it directly as it is behind some sand dunes. The cabin was clean and spacious with seating outside. All camp facilities were clean and within few steps. We stayed only one night, but I could imagine staying longer to really enjoy the beach location.

That's great news that you enjoyed your stay. It's a shame you weren't able to extend your visit. The location couldn't be better. In-fact - from the furthest point in the camp to the Beach is just under a 4 minute walk.

Location perfection.
Accommodation perfect - amenities for every eventuality.
Service spot on with over-and-above help from very kind staff.
Would very highly recommend - can't say more than that!
But apparently I must - not enough words - STAY HERE and do the trek to Cathedral Cove - breathtakingly beautiful.

Room Tip: Get a beachfront villa - views are out of this world.
