“Butterflies”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2014

A great place to learn about the development and life of butterflies. Do not get discouraged by the bad condition of the road. It is worth a visit. There is a river across the street offering tube rafting.

“Muy Tranquilo!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2014

Some friends and I visited here, and loved it! I think it cost only $6 per person for the tour. It was a super quick tour, but we learned a lot about the stages of development of butterflies, and got to see several different types of butterflies, pupae, and cocoons. Amazing!

The guide let me put banana goo on my skin, so that the butterflies would rest on me and eat. What an experience!!

This tour is super chill, and highly recommended. Very peaceful.

I wouldn't shop in the gift shop. It's really gimmicky and overpriced. Oh! And don't wear bug spray! For obvious reasons, it's forbidden. Be prepared to take a few sandfly and mosquito bites.

“Magical Fantasy Come True - Butterflies Galore”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2014

This day trip from our compound in Quito to the butterfly farm was absolutely marvelous. Thousands upon thousands of butterflies in all stages of their life are flittering around the huge canvas enclosed gardens. Dip your finger into the fruit juice for feeding and have dozens immediately come to greet you; this place is magical.

Your children will be astonished, and so will you. Everything is so beautiful. You won't be disappointed.

“Fun family activity”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014 via mobile

Relative to other attractions in the area, this one's little 'spendy' for what you get ($6/per) but it is a fantastic sanctuary for butterflies. Because of the climate in the cloud forest, get there early while the sun is still out to ensure that you get the best experience.

“Beautiful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

The owner gives a little talk about the butterfly life cycle, with live illustrations, then you get to wander in among the butterflies. We had lunch afterward, and hung out the windows watching the hordes of hummingbirds - a treat!
