We stayed for 3 nights in Sep 2010. We wanted to get off the beaten traveller track and chose Ilhabela. Na Mata Suites were located in a local neighbourhood so weren't very touristy which was great.
Tom, an english guy and Sylvia a brazillian were amazing hosts they made us feel very welcome and a part of their family. They picked us up from the ferry, dropped us off at places on the island if they were going out, helped us book travel plans and even stopped by the pharmacy on the way back to the ferry and helped translate.
The rooms were little hideaways at the top of their tropical garden and the breakfast was amazing, served on our balcony every morning with some helpful advice on what to do that day. The only downside was that it rained a lot during our stay and we were a bit far (20 mins) from the nearest frequent bus route along the island so we got a bit wet a few times going to the bus!
Would definitely recommend this place.
