“Great little zoo to entertain children and adults for an hour or two”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

It's not the biggest zoo or the most exotic zoo, but it's a zoo with elephants, exhibits, a carousel, and room for children to run. It's a manageable size for an hour or two of activities. Everyone loves the elephants, Emily and Ruth, and the last time we went we were lucky enough to catch the elephant talk. The farm exhibit has animals most children are already familiar with, so they have fun watching the pigs, sheep, and horses. The beaver and bear exhibits are always good for some animals in action. There are also indoor exhibitis of birds and aquatic creatures. It's affordable, especially if someone has the grandparents' membership. There is a lunch room and a gift shop, and there is a play area just outside the zoo's fence.

“Average Zoo”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Nothing great, pretty average zoo, ok for locals but I wouldn't recommend making a trip here from any kind of distance. They do have a cafeteria for lunch and snacks. You can pretty much see the whole zoo in under 1.5 hours.

“Too Small, Not Well Made, Little Expensive”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

As much as they try to improve this zoo little is often done to it. They spend more money on the planning stages than they do on the zoo itself. One elephant has passed away and the other elephant may be finding a new home since her home and living space is too small. The zoo area is small and you keep hitting dead-ends instead of rerouting or going in a circle. I won't even go on our free days. You can picnic or bbq outside of the zoo and there is a child's play area, tennis and basketball courts, large area to play ball or frisbee, all free and free parking.

“Great place for little ones.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

It's a small zoo with only a small sampling of animals. But it's very in expensive and a great way to entertain little ones. Lots of room for them to run around safely while enjoying seeing the animals. The only thing missing from this zoo is a hands on experience like a petting zoo.

“Perennial favorite place to see the animals”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

We have had a membership here for 5+ years. All of our young kids love going down here to see the bears, elephants, coyote, mountain lion, seals, otters, buffalo, horses, cows, chickens, turkeys, goats, deer, indoor exhibits, and other animals. The kiddie train and carousel (extra charge) are also big hits. The membership is a good deal if you might go 3+ times per year, and includes reciprocal entry to other zoos. Birthday parties for kids here are pretty good as well.
