Great history and architecture. It is right across the street from the world class New Bedford Whaling Museum.

“Historic site”

An old church in need of restoration. Worth walking across the street from the whaleing museum to see history of the seamen of New Bedford.

“A Workers' Church”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2012

New Bedford is still a working port and it's a bit rough around the edges.... Life at sea has often been difficult.... Step into the Seamen's Bethel for a few minutes and you'll have a better appreciation of "Moby Dick." Look at the memorial markers on display and note, especially, that some of the tragedies that are mentioned happened during recent years.... This isn't the kind of tourist spot that appeals to all tastes. However, it may encourage some reflection. This is a holy place.
