“One of the Best on Maui”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2007

Nice room, very comfortable. Flower or Tea Lea upon arrival. The feeling is very laid back. There are pool tables and kids areas on the ground floor. Room service was excellent. The concierge arranged windsurfing lessons on short notice. I'd definitely stay here again. I had them show me different types of rooms for my next stay, and some of them were oddly laid out, so ask. My room was very normal.

I stayed at the Four Seasons Wailea for 6 days during May 2007. In all honesty there are a lot better, lot more romantic places to go stay for a few days (try Carlisle Bay in Antigua for instance). This hotel while a bit above average...is just that...just a bit above average. I must have seen at least 5 weddings while I was there...so they are obviously marketing this place to the young...and not well traveled. Do yourself a favor, do a bit of homework...for the money you can find a MUCH nicer place to stay. Oh...and I read several reviews that mentioned the construction...and yes, I listened to a jack hammer every day hammering away right in the middle of the courtyard all day long...what a nuisance. I could go on and on with negatives...but I won't...so do your homework, this place is not that great.

A GREAT spa treatment is the Cranio Sacral massage. You go early in the morning and they take you out into the calm ocean and do the treatment there. It is peaceful, relaxing and so cool to be in the water! i loved it!

There is nothing else but to say that this has got to be the best in class on Maui. Though I have not stayed at any others in the top tier, we just returned from the last half of our honeymoon in Hawaii that we spent at this FS and the service, rooms, amenities, food / dining etc... were all outstanding.

The renovations are still underway and are on schedule or so it appears. We had to put up with some jack hammering everyday, they were repairing what I think they call their reflecting pools. The major work should be done with the hammers this week and that will be that. Also the final rooms under renovation should be complete by months end.

I hope to get a FULL trip review in sometime soon.

Yes, it was our honeymoon and we went all out so for the budget minded travelers this is not for you, those wanting a fantastic honeymoon spot or can afford the FS on a regular basis, I will live in envy of your next trip!

UNBELIEVABLE! this is the place to be pampered! We asked for a room on the inside (not over the driveway) and it was gorgeous! There is maid service twice a day so your room is always clean (I'm a little bit of a neat freak so to me this was great:) At night they leave soft Hawaiin music playing and dim the lights so you come home and it's so romantic.

The service is perfect - the staff is friendly and helpful and you don't get the feeling they are always looking for tips. Wolfgang Puck's Spago is amazing!!! This was our favorite meal we had (out of many many delicious meals). We made a sunset reservation for a front
row table and it was great.

Also, we booked a couples massage in their beach side huts - it was sooo relaxing! However, I would book later in the day (maybe 4-5:00) because it's a little noisy during mid-day since there are more people on the beach and stuff.

The Four Seasons Maui is and has been under renovation. One wing of the hotel is closed for complete room and hallway renovations. There is internal wall reconstruction noise if you stay in an adjoining room.

The week of the 15-18 of May or even longer if rennovations are not complete consists of jack hammering and refurbishing reflecting pools and water features. If you are into intensive constuction noise and I mean intensive with jack hammering then do not book a room facing the inner courtyard. All the constuction noise reflects up and into the rooms.

The Manager told me that the final stages of the hotel refurbishment will continue on until September.

If you want to stay at a resort that costs a fortune and put up with the noice, more power to you.

The Hotel is lovely although not in any sense an authentic Hawaiian experience. It is an 8 story concrete and glass hotel with beautiful grounds overlooking the ocean.

The food at the hotel is extremely expensive even by Hawaii hotel
standards. While the food is excellent, you certainly know that the food and bar are the profit centers for the hotel.

Yes, expect outstanding Four Seasons pampering and attention to detail BUT BEWARE of the construction. We came home early from our vacation rather than put up with the dust, noise and
mess. For over $800 dollars a night for an oceanview room,
home seemed a better alternative.

This is a very luxurious property that would suit honeymooners well, but I have to say how pleasantly surprised I was at the number of activities available for my five-year-old son. At age 5, he just qualified for participation in the "Kids for All Seasons" program. We've since participated in a few other programs like this and this was our favorite by far. Parents can drop their child off around 9 am and return around 5 to pick them up. The kids have others their age to play with, and mom and dad can do whatever they like that isn't kid-friendly. The activities for the children were varied, including shell collecting, crafts, tennis, games and supervised swimming. My son had a blast! My husband and I took advantage of the yoga, canoeing and pilates classes, something we never have time for at home.

Oh, and of course - this is a Four Seasons, so your every need is anticipated and cheerfully met. Loved the property - a good value despite the expense because of the activities available for everyone.

  • Liked — Outstanding service, many activities at the hotel for children and adults.
  • Disliked — Nothing - everything was fabulous.
