“Four Seasons Maui and Lanai”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

Had the privilege to stay at the Four Season in Lanai and Maui. Both facilities were amazing and staff was outstanding. You do have to remind yourself that you are paying for the view when you order a $28 hamburger.

We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary having left our children behind. It really is difficult to think of a negative connected with the Four Seasons Resort Maui. First and foremost the staff are unbelievably attentive and thoughtful. They were so well trained that they achieved this without being intrusive.

We dined exclusively at the resort for the duration of our stay and found the food to be of a high standard without being over the top in terms of price or pretentiousness.

Being able to have some OK snorkelling straight off the beach was a bonus. We also enjoyed the spa which was excellent and appears to be priced comparably with other hotels of a lesser standard.

Our room and bathroom were fabulously large. Cleanliness throughout the hotel was fastidious. I didn't spot so much as a paint chip or plaster crack anywhere.

The hotel was very busy when we were there, however, it didn't feel crowded. On one of our days we missed out on a bed near the adults pool because we didn't get there till around 9.30am. We put our name on the waiting list and were accommodated by midday.

The Concierge desk were brilliant as well - sorting out the alteration of our flight plans and our visit to the Maui Film Festival.

Forethought had been given to every aspect of a guests stay - resulting in a relaxed, hassle free experience. What more could be asked? I couldn't recommend this resort more highly.

Romantic, beautiful resort. Fabulous stay. Beautiful bathrooms and rooms. Pool and cabana service was awesome. Beach was beautiful, and usable for swimming. Awesome location on end of row of resorts. Onsite Italian restaurant was one of the best meals of our trip. Room service delicious. Strongly recommend full breakfast package. Concierge advice, reservations service was always super helpful. Hope to return one day

My husband and I were married at the Four Seasons in Santa Barbara, so were excited to see the Wailea property to get away for our babymoon. We divided our time on the island between there and the Ritz Carlton in order to experience both sides of the island.

HANDS DOWN, the Four Seasons was BY FAR, way more luxurious and unbelievable!

We had a wonderful experience booking with Thomas B. directly and when we walked into our amazing ocean view room, we were welcomed with special amenities for our babymoon and even a pregnancy pillow and extra water! Day after day, we were blown away by the staff and we felt 100% spoiled and pampered the whole time. From the guys at valet who got to know us and knew we were hard core foodies, to the pool and bar folks at the Serenity pool. Special thanks to Kalua and Lee at the pool for their professionalism.

The thing that happened to us that we have been telling everyone, is the attention to the guests' experience that was phenomenal. On our last day, we were at the pool and my husband was carrying or point and shoot camera from inside the pool to our seats. He missed a step in the pool, so the camera submerged really quickly. He got out, and then stood at our seats and was blowing water and drying it off as quick as possible.

Within a minute, one of the pool staff members came to our rescue. He suggested that the camera be placed inside a ziploc bag with dry rice grains to soak up any water. He said it usually works for mishaps like this for phones and cameras. He brought bag the ziploc bag shortly, we left the camera inside over night and it worked! I can't believe to this day, the attention the staff had provided for this experience. Had I lost any of our pictures from our babymoon, I would have been devastated.

We loved the property for service and quiet nature. We loved the serenity pool and swim up bar a lot, and know that once our child comes, we will be back as there is complimentary day care for kids over 5 years and also kids eat free if under 5. You'll get a kick out of the treats they bring around....otter pops, rice krispy treats. Which, costs very little out of pocket for the resort, but makes you feel *pampered* right?

Also, having worked in non-profit for child with developmental disabilities for over a decade, I was uber impressed that at each family pool, there was a harness/ADA seat where a child/adult can be lowered into the pool. I really appreciate that, and have never seen that. Kudos for the thought that went into this.

While in town/hotel, do not miss:
-Getting up early to put your name down for a chair at the Serenity pool. They will even call you once a seat is available. You also have plenty of options like the beach or other pools if its maxed out, just be patient
-Mamas fish house - we went twice. Best meal of the island. Best sashimi and mac nut fish, get the fried fish appetizer too. Go before sunset! Gorgeous and super romantic. Incredible atmosphere
-Eskimo candy fish tacos (better than Coconut Fish) - superb chowder, great simple fish tacos
-Pineapple grill in Lahaina (if you are on that side of the island) - AMAZING huevos rancheros!
-The only thing we didn't like that some at the Ritz recommended, was MonkeyPod...nothing special at all

We had the best time, and dare I saw this vacation was better than our Bora Bora honeymoon, I would say yes.

Thank you Thomas B and Kellie B (via Santa Barbara Four Seasons for connecting us to Thomas B) for your incredible service, something we love. We are loyal to the FS for sure! We've told all our friends and family and best friends just booked at this property in July, thanks again Thomas for assisting with their reservations. We will be back! We wouldn't think about staying anywhere else next time in Maui!

I have stayed at this property 7 times over the past 5 years. We have traversed the whole islands many times, and Wailea is truly the "sunny side" Of the island. Four Seasons capitalizes on all of the sun with beautiful pools, wonderful poolside service and unlimited ocean activities. They have it all at your fingertips. I can't imagine visiting Maui and staying anywhere else. They do it right!
The rooms are always spacious and well appointed. The little touches make a difference- fresh orchids, chilled water, slippers and robes. My husband was not feeling well one evening and when I called room service For dinner, they sent him up chicken and noodle soup and crackers, Free of charge! I was blown away! They mean it when they say "whatever it takes".
You pay more for the Four Seasons experience, but I promise, it's worth every penny!

Best resort ever! Great service, great grounds and amenities. Get to the serenity pool early to reserve a seat. Has free scuba lessons in the pool. We were there for our honeymoon and they upgraded us to an ocean view suite.

Spent an awesome week at the Four Seasons Wailea and was really, really impressed. Great rooms (complimentary upgrade to junior suite was sweet - and our kids also got a complementary complimentary upgrade from partial ocean to full ocean). Great grounds. Hotel is large but it never felt crowded. The staff is amazing - so friendly, and their ability to remember who you are is truly impressive. Breakfast buffet (though pricey) was great. Only minor complaint - cardo equipment is outdoors, so unless you enjoy working out in adverse conditions (dead air and high humidity), it is not fun. Weight room, on the other hand, is well equipped and air conditions. Overall, a spectacular experience.
