“Quite honestly the best resort we have ever visited - Honeymooners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

We stayed at the Four Seasons Resort in Wailea, Maui for our honeymoon in mid February after reading all the reviews on tripadvisor. We stayed in their cheaper room, the 'mountain view'/'carpark view' - but it was absolutely fantastic - if you think you need an ocean view room to enjoy yourself - think again!

From the moment we arrived at the resort we were treated like superstars! We were escorted to our room by Llewellyn (I remember his name because he was lovely!) where there was champagne and snacks awaiting us - and a card congratulating us on our wedding. It was a lovely touch :)

We enjoyed eating at all the restaurants - Duo was particularly nice. We also enjoyed snacks from the snack shack down at the beach and cocktails in the swim up bar.

Whenever we returned to our room it had been cleaned or tidied. It was amazing, we would leave the room for 30 minutes and come back and it would be clean again! I told my new husband not to expect this when we returned home lol!

We hired two cars from the resort as well as arranging many activities - whale watching, road to Hana, trips down to the Weilea shops, traditional Luau. They were a great source of information.

When I was sick during our stay, the resort also organised to get me to the doctor - within about 40 minutes of getting down to reception to ask about seeing a doctor, they had booked for me, taken me there, I'd seen the doctor, gotten my medication and been picked up by the resort. Best service ever.

All in all, we had a fantastic time at this resort. We have no bad experience to report! I just wish we had the money to do this every year.

Room Tip: Go the mountain view - the rooms are awesome, cheaper and not as many noisy guests!

What an amazing experience to be treated like royalty at the Four Seasons Resort at Wailea!!
The entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable and personable. The staff at the spa exceeded my expectations. I've also received the best haircut ever by one of the amazing stylists.

The breakfast is always fresh and tasty, and they offer a fine selection of restaurants filled with so many choices of fine cuisine for all palettes. The hotel is located on the beach and you will find every water equipment you need once you step outside. If you are looking for some total peace and quiet time, check out the Serenity Pool. They also offer a car service to drive you to and from certain areas.

The hotel is also filled with amazing art. Love it!!

This was our first trip to Maui and our first time staying at a Four Seasons. We are experienced travellers who like the modern feel of hotels such as the Mandarin Oriental, but expected that the 'Hawaiian style' would prevail here. We were correct. Our expectations in any hotel/resort are very high and we had them met with the Four Seasons Wailea. Was it perfect? No, but pretty darn close. Check-in, as noted by others, is simply the best there is of any hotel. We were greeted by name and the front desk immediately wished us a happy (1st) anniversary. We had booked through whatahotel.com and asked about the one class upgrade. Unfortunately this was not available due to rooms being full. I was somewhat disappointed, but we had sprung for the Ocean View room anyway, so was happy. Imagine our surprise when the front desk checked with the manager in the back and he upgraded us to an Ocean Front Prime Suite. This is a huge upgrade and they did it to surprise us for our anniversary and being first time Four Seasons customers. The suite was over 1200 square feet and we spent a lot of time there. The views from the ocean front rooms are breathtaking. The beach is soft and wonderful and the pools are all first rate. We are a couple, so really enjoyed being able to spend time in the infinity, all adult pool. Breakfast at Duo is one of the best features. It was covered up to $85 since we had booked through whatahotel.com. You would be a fool not to make this booking. I became addicted to Passionfruit juice. They will bring you as much as you like. There is no other breakfast the world over that compares, with the possible exception of the M.O. Singapore. Oh how I miss it already! We ate in Duo the first night and found that the food was very good, but quite expensive. We have no issues spending $$$ when we feel that the level of the food and drink rises to the price, but I have to say that the wine programs in all three of the restaurant properties (Duo, Spago and Ferraro's) were the Achilles heel of the entire place. We are wine aficionados (not snobs) and found many an $11 wine being sold for $65 in each of the restaurants. They would do a better service to their guests if the wine program matched the excellence of the rest of the property (to be fair, these are independently owned restaurants that F.S. has licensed to serve the property.) The second night (our anniversary) we went to Spago. The food was wonderful, but the service and wine service were off. I was a bit non-plussed, but held my tongue. The next day, the housekeeper left a letter from the Spago manager on our bed soliciting feedback. I called him and to make a long story short, our fourth night dinner was comped at Spago. Exceptional response and totally unexpected! I am a Spago fan for sure. The Wagyu Bolognese with Angel Hair pasta is one of the best dishes I've ever eaten. Valet in and out is a breeze, though $20 a night (given the bonfire you are making with $$$ when staying here, that is not much.) The spa had the best (and most expensive) massage ever (Lomi Mahalo 80 minutes.) While they offer this option on down by the beach, I recommend you get it in the spa. The atmosphere is so restful. We ate at Ferraro's twice for lunch and once for dinner. Again the same observation re wine, but the food was truly excellent on all counts. VERY important point: Don't leave the hotel early if you are scheduled on the red-eye. Make sure you book your rental car for return around 7pm. There is literally nothing at the Maui airport out front, not even a place to sit. The hotel offers an Aloha suite for you to clean up if late check-out is not available for your room. They will hold your luggage. We made the mistake of leaving at 2pm. Ah well, lesson learned. The Four Seasons has set the bar so high, I doubt we can return to this property because any other room would be a let-down. We spent five nights here and wished it were a longer (though my Amex would probably melt if we did so.) Bravo to the finest hotel staff anywhere. If I could give them six stars I would.

Room Tip: Book through whatahotel.com to get the Bed and Breakfast plan!

This is our third or fourth stay at the Wailea Four Seasons and it definitely did not disappoint. The service was a little cooler at arrival than in the past but check-in was friendly. Our Ocean View was clean and well-appointed. The adult pool was busy (amazingly beautiful pool) but we were able to get our desired spot each of the days. Service at poolside was a little spotty compared to other visits. We did have to wait in a small line in the morning but we were up early so it was never a big deal for us. We dined in-room all three nights as the dining options pool side kept us full into the evening. I took a couple of spin classes and they were good. The spa locker room is very nice too. The room was beautiful and clean. We'll be back!

We stayed here for our anniversary and I’ve never seen such fantastic service. From the moment you drive into the valet parking area to the moment you leave, you are catered to like royalty. The valet takes your luggage to your room before you get there, no need to tell them the room number, it’s already there. Brought to our room was a free bottle of sparkling wine and a flower for our anniversary. At the pool, service staff continually fill your water while never being seen. They even come by with an icy treat when it’s hot.

We ate breakfast at Duo, one of the onsite restaurants, absolutely fantastic with all the delicious treats you expect from a first class resort and some you don’t like a yogurt palate cleanser and fresh squeezed juices.

All of this opulence does not come cheap but if you’re willing to pay, it will spoil you for any other location.

Beautiful hotel - on par with most 4 seasons. The larger pool had a lot of kids, since it was winter break. That didnt bother us at all and the child's area is in a seperate area. In addition, they have a great adult only pool.

This is my first ever stay at a Four Seasons hotel and I heard lots of friends talk about the service being top notch. They were not wrong. From the moment we checked in to the sad day we had to check out everything was awesome. We were treated like royalty throughout the hotel.
