“Our Honeymoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon last October and we absolutely loved it. We are young travelers (both of us are 26) but were accompanied by plenty of other honeymooners at the resort that were a similar age. This is a pricey hotel, but in my opinion, well worth the money. Food is very expensive, but so tasty. Breakfast buffet was to die for but we couldn't spend 45$ per person per day on it so we went to the local Walmart and picked up cereal and milk and some snacks (Mind you that is like the walk-of-shame coming into a Four Seasons with Walmart bags, but who cares!) The staff is AMAZING, we didn't run into one problem our entire 10 days! Rooms are always spotless, views are breath-taking at every angle, and the beach..... best beach in Hawaii for sure. You can snorkel right from the beach at the resort and see TONS of fish and sea turtles and even rays! OK, you get the hint. IF you can afford this, do it. You will not regret it!!!!

Room Tip: Upgrades are possible if you tell them you're on a honeymoon at the desk but sometimes rooms are...

If you are going to do Maui and do it right, you do it here. You get lei'ed as soon as you walk into the lobby. The first view of the resort is breathtaking. Whenever you look inside the hotel there is a beautiful tropical floral arrangement to remind you that you are in paradise. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are cavernous. They surprised us with sweet treats and sweet notes for our girls getaway for my friend's 40th.

Service:
The service is impeccable (the staff make you feel like you really are special) and literally wait on you hand and foot. You never have the leave the resort as you can rotate your day throughout the property from the many pools, sunning hideaways areas, and the beach. Staff is always there to set up your area with towels, water and menu needs. Throughout the day they bring snacks like pineapple popsicles, brownie bites, and mini smoothies. They even come by to clean your sunglasses. They have a selection of free fitness activities (beach yoga, pool aerobics, etc) to make you feel less guilty about all the great food and drinks you are enjoying on the vacation. If you need to leave paradise, they have free resort shuttle (which is a car service) to take you to the other resorts in Wailea.

Food:
Go to Ferraro's for the outdoor sunset and incredible views. Ask about their seasonal specials, when we went it was half off wine bottles after 8. It's very romantic in the evening so we would recommend if you are needing to impress early on in the vacation. Breakfast buffet at Duo's is amazing and delicious. Because you are on vacation, we would recommend the full buffet with the mimosas but to go at the end of your visit so your bikini will fit. There is isn't really a "happy hour" but the entertainment at the Lobby Lounge is the highest quality and all the cocktails are unique and tasty. We recommend your last supper at Spagos; service amazing, food is spectacular and the elevated views are the best in the island.

The Four Seasons at Wailea is on the top of people's lists because it truly is excellent. From the moment you arrive in the driveway, to the farewell at the end of the stay, the hotel's staff and facilities are above and beyond pleasing. The setting is drop dead beautiful, the grounds are immaculate, the rooms large, and the activiities abundant. Kids are right at home in the pool, on the beach, and at the shaved ice stand. Families can rent snorkel gear, a paddle board, try scuba, hit tennis balls, or just people watch by the pool. Might even see a celebrity or two -- we did. Poolside spa services are even better than the indoor spa experience -- get pampered and feel the outdoors; won't miss any family time either. Even the game room is well equipped for late afternoon or after dinner play (ping pong, pool, etc) time. A hospitality suite is available for mainland arrivals waiting to check in or departing after check out. So, keep your swim gear on top of your bag and don't waste a minute inside. This is a Four Seasons resort that sets the standard. Once you arrive, you'll want to stay on site, despite the best laid plans to explore the island. When you inevitably venture off property, you'll be happy to arrive back to a cool towel, beverage, and the light breeze in the lobby. Worth every penny and likely to return, again.

Just back from a wonderful 9 days at this resort. Very expensive but I don't begrudge a penny. Wonderful atmosphere. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We stayed "on campus" more than I expected to, as the breakfast buffet, poolside lunches, and restaurant suppers were all fantastistic. Ferraro's in particular combined amazing food with amazing views. There was a decent ratio of poolside chairs to guests, we were always able to get something even if we slept in. I could sense from walking by the other hotels in Wailea that the system was far more stressful at the other properties.

Room Tip: Rooms at the bottom of the "U" shape will give you both a garden and ocean views.

If I had friends looking to come to Maui I would always recommend the four season right away. The service was good but had some flaws. The rooms were nice and just like any other hotel room but the beds were very comfortable. Expensive place but totally worth the money. Great location and a very kid friendly place.

We just returned from a 6 night stay at this property. And by property, I mean paradise. It should be understood that I would NEVER book a hotel this expensive unless the apocalypse was pending. However, my girlfriend did all of the booking and boy I'm glad she did.

I was apprehensive that the atmosphere would be 'snooty' and 'stuck-up'. Thankfully, it wasn't so. The staff do an AMAZING job of keeping it mellow and friendly and treating ALL guests equally.

The adult-only serenity pool is great. Amazing view. No kids. Not even within earshot. Hallelujah!

Each restaurant is highly recommended though on the expensive side. Breakfast will cost you an arm, if not a leg too. Getting out of the resort for sightseeing and to try local restaurants in the nearby towns was very much necessary. Therefore, a rental car is a nice to-have.

Unfortunately, the bar has been raised so high for future trips that I fear my retirement fund is now in jeopardy. Malaho Four Seaons Maui!
