“poolside pampering”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2012

We loved our stay at the Four Seasons.
We found the room lovely and huge. The bed was very comfortable. We were greeted with a little dessert tray and a lovely note in our room upon arrival.
The bathrooms are huge and nicely arranged.
We appreciated the empty refrigerator in the room so we could store things of our own and the complimentary bottles of water each day.
The staff was friendly and greeted us with "aloha".
The deck off of our room was also comfortable and enjoyable to sit comfortably and enjoy the lovely gardens and a view of the ocean.
We found the pool area to be fantastic, comfortable and we certainly found the complementary cabana's fabulous. The staff kept our water glass filled with ice water, they came around offering pineapples, cold pops, frozen lemonade and a few other goodies. They place terry cloth covers on each chase lounge as well as a clean towel. The service couldn't have been better. We also found it easy to order food from the many staff coming around regularly. The food was nicely prepared and came at a reasonable time. We split meals and the staff handled this nicely without any extra charge.
We would have like self parking offered so we could come and go easily.
It was nice having the coffee available each morning on the lower level.
This was a special vacation, we hope to return again.

Room Tip: Each time you stay with them they seem to upgrade your room. Each room view gets better.

Since I decided NOT having to cook and going someplace fun for Thanksgiving was a hit in my book, I opted for a little fun in the sun. I have never been disappointed yet at a Four Seasons! Rooms were wonderful, room service was great. Dessert petit fours on arrival. The only negative I had was that it was very "kid friendly" and I didn't mind that until it came time to spa in he Hale and it was hardly relaxing with the kids playing football and listening to their screams while trying to relax during a 250.00 massage! Then you had to walk back to the spa in a robe. Ok, i am modest. They even have a room to stay in after check out until you have to leave for the airport..after all if check out is noon and your flight leaves at 10 PM and you have done everything..then what? Almost perfection...

Aloha from Wailea,

Mahalo for taking the time to share your thoughts about our resort. I’m happy to read that you were able to escape holiday cooking for a stay on Maui and that you enjoyed your room and amenities! However, it is disappointing to learn that your spa experience did not live up to expectations. We value your feedback and will certainly consider it as we continually strive to maintain excellence in our spa. I welcome the opportunity to discuss this issue further. Please feel free to contact me at maria.jagla@fourseasons.com or 808.874.2212. We hope to welcome you back in 2013.

Warmest Aloha,
Maria Jagla

Great family experience! Loved the quiet Hawaiian atmosphere and the personal reception from every staff person. Beautiful and inviting layout. The food was always prepared and served with excellence. We spent so much time in the ocean that was right down from the pool that we never really needed to leave the hotel. The whales seemed to know it, too!
Boogie boards, great snorkeling with the turtles, kayaks, outrigger lessons - you gave us a picture perfect family vacation. Mahalo Four Seasons! Well done.

Room Tip: our rooms were mountain view - but we could actually see the ocean and here the waves breaking on th...

Although the hotel was very busy with conferences, we were well taken care of and pampered for the three days we were there. Bar staff remembered our favourite drinks and were very good at their jobs.
All restaurants were outstanding.

Room Tip: The odd numbered rooms are on the pool side and quieter than the even numbered rooms which face out...

I challenge you to have a better vacation anywhere else! This is the second visit in 18 months with my adult children and we can't wait to return. You are greeted daily by name, the cold towels, chilled pineapple, frosty pops, and Evian spray which are circulated non-stop all day don't even start to describe the experience. The facility is always in perfect condition. The staff are warm and engaging, professional without being pretentious. Forget what it costs as you can't compare it to any other property on the island. We did a "pub crawl" to check out the other resorts and there is no other comparison. They have spoiled us forever.

Room Tip: It isn't necessary to pony up for a room with an ocean view....as you are out all day looking at...

My husband and I spend 8 days in Maui in August 2010. We stayed at the Four Seasons and the Ritz. Usually I love Four Seasons properties, however for the money we found that the Ritz was a much better deal.

The good:
- Rooms, service, location
- The food and dinner specials at Spago were great

The ehh:
- The adult pool was really nice but you had to pay for a cabana to use it, since getting a chair was basically impossible - and we weren't there during peak season.
- The beach was not so great. It was really small and just not very nice. In fact most days we left the hotel to go to some of the other public beaches which were nicer

Aloha from Maui,

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about our resort. We are always disappointed when we fail to meet the expectations of our valued guests. While were are pleased to read that you enjoyed the rooms, service, location, and food at the resort, it is disconcerting to learn that you had trouble securing a place at the Serenity Pool. Pool seating is a delicate issue, and guidelines are in place to try to maintain fairness for all our guests. However, we will certainly use your feedback; communication such as this is vital for achieving Four Seasons’ signature standards. Please feel free to contact me at maria.jagla@fourseasons.com or 808.874.2212 should you wish to discuss these matters further. Wishing you a warm aloha!

Best Regards,
Maria Jagla

My wife and I stayed here for the first part of our honeymoon in late June. We stayed here 4 nights, followed by 3 nights at the Sheraton in Kaanapali, then 5 nights at the Grand Hyatt in the island of Kauai. This was our favorite stay between the 3. I think we paid $460 per night for the cheapest room option which ended up around $500 per night after tax. If you're looking for value in the traditional sense you're probably not looking here. That being said, there are a lot of perks and this is pretty much the best money can buy. Here are the bullet points:

- We were upgraded to a corner suite garden view. It was peaceful on the terrace. I don't think there is value in paying for a view, it was pretty much irrelevent to our stay.

- We received a free bottle of champagne for our honeymoon

- The room was average for a 4-5 star place

- The bathroom is incredible. Huge, all marble, radio for the shower, L'Occitane toilertries.

- The whole place is open air. If there was a typhone the whole place would get wet!

- Partly outdoor fitness center, a game room, not much shopping on site

- The valet is awesome and really your only option. Free water, free towels, printed directions, etc. "Free" but gave $10 every time which I personally think is the floor at a place like this.

- The lounge is $10-12 per drink with some light entertainment

- There is a nice pool in the middle and an adult pool. You need to get up at like 8am to reserve a chair at the adult pool, otherwise they'll take your phone number and call you in 2-3 hours.

- Free sun lotion and lemonade stand

- The waiters bring you iced water cups even on the beach (free, like everything else)

- The beach is really great. Very clean. Pretty quiet since there aren't too many kids at this hotel and its not a public beach.

- Free chairs, towels, umbrellas, scuba gear, etc - employees on the beach to help you. The scuba is pretty good by the rocks to the left. We found it good if not better than the infamous black rock in Kaanapali.

- The area isn't like Kaanapali by the way. It's more like a retirement community than a village.

- We ate at Ferreros and Duo if I remember the names correctly. Both were good but not amazing. We had a comparable meal at the Ruth Chris Steakhouse. It's at the shopping plaza which is a 10-15 minute walk. The shopping plaza had a mix of cheap places and not so cheap places.

- I played golf across the street at the blue course and it was ok but nothing special.

Overall service was impeccable. The employees are truly helpful and genuinely good people. Fantastic stay.

Room Tip: Get the cheapest room and you're an equal guest for everything else.
