“Nice Irish Pub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012 via mobile

Went on a night with an acoustic guitar/singer. Made for a cool atmosphere although the place was a little over crowded and the singer wasn't anything to write home about. But it's an Irish pub and it should have some kind of lively music. Food was very good, being Irish I am very picky about a corned beef dinner and Mulligans passed the test. We had called to make reservations and were told unless we did the dinner and show they were all sold out. We then went on open table though, were able to reserve a table, no problem. Just seemed a little fishy that we couldn't get one over the phone without the extra show fee and we reserved on line without the show (and it showed several dinner times available). Honestly if we paid for the "show" we would've been very dissapointed.

“This place is awesome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

Where do I even begin? Mulligans is amazing. We stayed for 2 weeks on Maui and must have gone to Mulligans about 7 or 8 times. Happy hour is a great deal and the food is awesome!! The guys working behind the bar are awesome. Even if they are super busy, they still take care of you and even shake your hand! We made a reservation on the night Willie K was playing and our res never showed up in the books. So what did the staff do? Eileen at the front desk apologized and made us a new table on the spot! She was so welcoming and accommodating. Kari was our server that night and even with a full house and an extra table, she was on top of everything. From the drinks to the food everything came out perfect. Thanks to Mike for the round on the house and running such a wonderful restaurant. We tell everyone about Mulligans and we will continue to come back every time we visit Maui. Thanks to the staff for such a great experience!

“Concert great food fine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

We were there on Halloween but were in the second row by the stage. Seating is crowded but we expected that. Service was very good I thought. I have a seafood allergy and they brought me a nice tomato soup to replace the shrimp and clam one when I was fine to just skip it. There are a lot of people there so what you get is more a banquet affair and not fine dining. We were more than full.

Willie K sings as Willie K but also many other singers and has a fine voice. He has his two daughters helping him at this show one doing the Hula to Over the Rainbow which he points out is NOT A HAWAIIAN SONG.

Many have seen him before and I would return. My only issue is he likes to joke and the group he likes to joke about are Filipinos as it is an Irish bar and my wife is an Filipina. She took it all OK but when he got to the third joke it was old for me.

“Halloween Concert with Willie K”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

Based on our evening, everyone must experience Mulligan's on the Blue at least once while on Maui, but only while attending a Willie K concert. We were seated outside in a challenging spot for watching the concert, we managed, thanks to a nearby speaker and the beautiful Maui evening. We had dinner with the concert, but the dinner was absolutely NOT worth the price. While we were waiting to be seated, another patron warned us NOT to select the short ribs because they were dry and tasteless. Heeding his advice, we chose from the other two entrees but these too were mediocre at best. Our dessert selections were apple pie or pumpkin cheesecake, and being a huge pumpkin anything fan, I was really looking forward to that cheesecake. True story, they ran out of pumpkin cheesecake JUST before they served us our dessert and to add insult to injury, the apple pie was barely edible. And then they served such a TERRIBLE pinot grigio, it was undrinkable, which allowed me to be a completely sober driver at the intoxication checkpoint! If it had not been for an over-the-top Willie K, the evening fare at Mulligan's would have been a bust.
