This is our second trip to Polo Beach Club and ofcourse we were back in unit 408. It felt like we were coming back to our "home" in Maui. How we wish!!! Everything was just as good as our first stay there. The owners went above and beyond for us when alittle snag about the rates came up. Might have helped that we were return guests, but it was a nice feeling and would always rent from them. We liked the cooler filled with goodies from Destination Resorts that we found on the island upon our arrival, another thank you for being repeats. We met other people who were also repeats of Polo Beach and all feel the same way about it. We left boogie boards in the unit for others to enjoy, plus we know we'll be back to use them also!!!! We went to the winery and really loved it, the scenery is beautiful and they had wine tasting so we bought some to celebrate the beautiful sunsets each night from Polo Beach. We also went to the Iao needle which was really cool too. Didn't expect it to be what it was. We went to a Jimmy Buffet concert(we didn't know about it before we got there) it was amazing. The venue was not as large as we are used to in Chicago so we were so close, it seemed so personal. We had a blast. Final thought, Wailea is our favorite spot in Maui, and Polo Beach is our favorite spot in Wailea.

This is truly beach front; every uniit is overlooking the beach. This is a beautiful stretch of beach. The condos are well appointed and comfortable. Great attention to detail, from the beach chairs and cooler provided to the well supplied kitchen. There are gas bbq's supplied next to the pool and an herb garden for guest use. I will definitely be returning to Polo Beach.

We have been vacationing in Maui for over 20 years. We discovered Wailea the first time we went there - and it is possibly the best-kept secret from the majority of travelers. On the opposite end of the island (the sunny side) from Kaanapali and Kapalua, it offers incredible weather and some of the best-rated beaches in the world. It is perfectly positioned for day trips to Lahaina, Upcountry (Makena and further), the acquarium (new-ish), restaurants, etc. While it's "close" to many things, however, it is positioned totally away from commercial. We always stay at the Polo Beach Club - condos on the beach (right out the back door) which are owned by wealthy individuals who rent them through Destination Resorts. Each of the 79 condos is decorated differently, though the floor plans are pretty much identical - wbedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, kitchen, dining, living room and - best of all - a huge lanai on the ocean. All face on the ocean.

If two couples or families are traveling together, the price for the condo is reasonable. For our daughter's wedding, we used the Grand Wailea whose stained glass, nondenominational chapel is exquisite. They have the most incredible spa, according to us and Conde Nast - probably without peer in the U.S.

We booked our week through VRBO dealing direct with the owners. We were sold by the Virtual Tour offered on the VRBO web site. We stayed in unit 609 owned by the Heinens and Grays of Reno NV. The unit is in the back corner closest to the Kea Lani.I believe that the back corner units are the only ones with lanais for the second bedroom. Unit 609 is very well equipped with a wonderfully modern kitchen. It had large screen TV's in both the living area and the master bedroom. The TV in the living room had a DVD / VHS player attached. There was a stereo, tape, and CD player as well. Beach chairs are provided. The sunset views from the lanai were gorgeous. The Polo Beach Club location at the end of the beach path gives it easy walking access to all the beach resorts in Wailea. The beach is very private and was not crowded any day during our seven day stay. If an even more secluded beach with tons of shade is desired then take a short walk (less than a 1/4 mile) south along Old Makena Road to Palauea Beach. We never encountered more than four people on this beach. All in all I would not hesitate one moment to return to Unit 609 or to recommend it to another. It ranked as one of the nicest places we have stayed at.
