“Celebrated my hubbys 40th bday here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

Amasia was conveniently located in our hotel so we decided to celebrate my husbands bday here so we could drink and not worry about driving. The appetizers were great and dessert as well but can't really remember entree's (that may mean they were not that memorable). HOWEVER, ambiance was perfect, dimly lit and outdoor giant fish pond also a cute touch.

“Ate here 3 times”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

I loved the small plates and service. Things that looked odd on the menu were delicious. Loved this restaurant.

“excellent in hotel sushi!”

great japanese fused cuisine and excellent service. They made exceptions to the menu to accomodate diet of visitors.

Ask them to pick the food for you!

Just sat at sushi bar and ate some ahi and a few rolls, good service, the old Kincha room is basically intact.

“Sorely disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

I am a fan of Alan Wong's. Love the restaurant on King Street on Oahu. That being said I was sorely disappointed with our Amasia experience.

Service: I'd expect better from the Grand Wailea and the Alan Wong name. No one explained the menu...we had to ask questions. FYI - the pineapple are "Alan Wong" signature dishes and the other icon are Amasia signature dishes. Some food took a really long time to arrive. The worst thing that happened was the wait staff who refilled our water glasses refilled over the table soaking my daughter's plate in water...her plate, and therefore her food was soaked and she didn't want to eat that food anymore (who could blame her). We had to flag down our waiter to order which was somewhat embarrassing.

Food: Some dishes were amazingly wonderful, others quite frankly need to be taken off the menu. The desserts were disappointing...we didn't even order after waiting a long time for the last set of "entrees" to arrive.
