“Wonderful family stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

We stayed in unit 33b which was a one bedroom with a great access to the green belt and view of the ocean. The property is gorgeous, well tended to, with a great beach and nice pool area for families. The unit itself was nice enough, but perhaps average compared to all the nicely renovated units. This one had been renovated but is still basic. We got a lower rate than some other units so perhaps that is why. The pull out bed was ok for our kid but prob not comfortable for an adult. They were kind to bring an extra mattress for free for our other child. The lanai is so big, a plus, but the unit could have nicer offerings out there, ie better furniture, and another chaise lounge. Ekahi is the place to be with a family, ESP young kids. We will def be back. Destination resorts was very professional to work with, had pleasant interactions with them and very helpful. One note that the daily cleanings are ok but not thorough.

Room Tip: Green belt for kids, try a bit higher for views. Avoid back units bc of street noise. Ground level u...

This village is great. Everything is extremely beautiful, from the beach to the gardens and finally the condos. You have several restaurant in the area and shops. I really would like to be back again.

Wailea Ekahi Village is located on Keawakapu Beach, one of the nicest in Hawaii. The golden sand is soft, the waves are gentle, the shore slopes off gradually, and it's hard to find a rock to stub your toe on. There are rocks on the end of the beach, but they make a nice home for the fish, and snorkeling is excellent. The main pool is next to the beach and has a covered pavilion with grills and kitchen facilities. Wailea Ekahi Village was built in 1975, so the buildings look dated, but the grounds are beautifully maintained by a team of 12 gardeners. Most of the units are owned by individuals and rented through a variety of agencies. Décor and renovations may vary quite a bit from unit to unit. The property has 54 buildings, some of which are a long, uphill walk from the beach. Four pools are spread around the property, so you’re never too far from one. Wailea's 1.5 mile Beach Walk ends at the beach just south of the resort. Wailea is a quiet neighborhood, but is still close to the many shops and restaurants in Kihei. We’ve stayed here twice, and already booked next year.

Room Tip: If you want to be close to the beach, book through a rental agency that shows which building and uni...

Great Price for all that it included!!!! like home the way we like it with lots of amenities. Everything you would need for a kitchen readily available at your fingertips! The Pavilion was GREAT! Take your lunch down as you go for the beach or pool and stay for a LONG day (refrigerators, stoves, microwaves) Winston the LOCAL that works there is a true GEM within this true GEM of a resort......and will help you with anything you need. The Beach's views are MAGICAL!!!!! I wouldn't trade this place for any high end hotel , here is right smack dead in the middle of ROYALTY! Shops of Wailea are in walking distance ( first time I have been in Tiffany's, Rolex, Gucci, Louis Vittan) . You just have to try this place.... BUT not when I'm wanting to stay Again!! THANKS TO DIANE AND ALEX FOR AN AMAZING FIRST TRIP TO MAUI!! Hope to stay again sooner than later. Maholo and Aloha

Room Tip: This room was at far back of village where owners stay from ocean but you can still see it through t...

Recently stayed in this two story condo and had a fantastic holiday. It was nicely furnished, large and had a lovely sunny aspect. The condo was quiet (never heard other guests) and conveniently located near the beach ( 5 minutes walk). The view of the beach is through trees....so although not expansive, you are at the beach all day....so its nice to come home to the quiet garden setting. My kids loved the garden. We loved the option of using the pool or the beach. There was also lots of beach gear for your use. There were only a few negatives.....it would have been great to have a small cafe near the main pool. To buy a coffee, newspaper or lunch. You either have to prepare it yourself back at your condo or drive somewhere. The only other gripe was the linen. Destination Resorts need to spend some money updating their bed sheets and towels. They are very worn and towels were at times grey in color (meant to be cream) and tatty. Other guests I had spoken to about this issue agreed.

Room Tip: Chose a condo closer to the beach eg.19a. Higher up the hill means quite a walk.

We enjoyed our stay at 26C. We had a great view and were not far from the beach. We rented directly from the owner (last minute I must add), which was a very smooth process. It was a great value for the money in the Wailea area.

We stayed in a one bedroom condo at Ekahi June 2013 for one week. I booked the condo through vrbo.com from the owner. We were in building 32 and the location was fabulous! We were able to enjoy an ocean view from the lanai every morning when we had breakfast or taking a break during the day. We travelled with our 15-month old boy and the condo had lots of supplies for babies including a stroller/booster and pack and play. They also had lots of fun beach stuff for us to use (this is SPECIFIC to this condo). The beach is one of the loveliest I have encountered in Maui and it was never crowded. It's perfect for swimming, snorkeling and long romantic beach walks. The Ekahi village is a 5 minute drive from all the luxury hotels in Wailea. This means that you can have a 5-star dinner every night (when you save $$$ by making breakfast and lunch at the condo it's not that painful!). We went to Amasia by Alan Wong at the Grand Wailea resort and it was fantastic! Check out Big Beach and continue on the road towards Makena till it ends to see the magnificent lava fields. I really love this condo village and would definitely recommend.
