“Expensive but totally worth it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2014

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for two nights and totally loved the place. It is little far from airport, close to 20 min drive on a good day however wailea is a very quiet and beautiful area. Our room was like a decent one bedroom house and had an awesome view of ocean.
Though the beach is little far from the hotel but hotel staff do arrange an easy ride for you to and fro. There is a nice swimming pool close to the hotel rooms and the bar along the pool side is worth a try. Also they have some really cool activities/classes throughout the week free of cost which you might not want to miss during your stay.
Like every hotel and resort, this resort too had a resort fee of $25.
There is a very famous restaurant in the resort named capische. We went there for breakfast. They had few cakes, pastries and coffee as complimentary breakfast but you can select an order from their breakfast menu. We really liked the omelet we ordered, also do try their passion guava fruit juice if get a chance. This is an expensive restaurant!!!!

There is a small complex with very good restaurants at 5 min drive from this hotel. We tried monkeypod and pita paradise restaurants there and enjoyed both our meals. These restaurants are very much affordable.

Definitely recommend this place!!!!

The hotel quiet and tucked away on the hill - and the view is stunning. Big rooms with a nice terrace. Very helpful staff when it comes to arranging trips and recommending sites. The hotel dropped us off at local restaurant - nice, so we did not have to drive ourselves.

Really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Wailea. Beautiful views from our lanai, delicious meal at Capische. The grounds were stunning. Would definitely stay here again but would request a renovated room next time.

Room Tip: Ask for a recently renovated room!

This hotel is an absolute hidden gem. The grounds are so beautiful and well kept, staff is very friendly, and the room product is amazing. I was here on a business trip but can't wait to come back for a vacation.

We loved the Hotel Wailea....the grounds are beautiful, our condo was exceptional. After reading the reviews we too asked for the newly renovated suites. The suite was beautiful. The service was excellent, the guys at the valet literally ran for your vehicle, they drive you with their golf cart right to your door (which is fantastic when you have armfuls of groceries, or beach gear). We found all the staff were awesome to deal with. We had a late flight in and a late flight out and they were very accomodating.

Suites are small and only accomodate 2 comfortably....we found the fridge very small (its a pull out drawer type) and putting a full size pizza in the freezer meant we needed to take it out of the box. We only bought groceries for a few days at a time. Longer stays would be a issue, you would be running for groceries constantly. There are no ovens, however there is a convection microwave.

Resort fees include access to Wailea beach which was worth it. You get the chairs and umbrellas on a beautiful large beach. Well worth the fees. The only problem we had was the booth to collect your towels, and ask for the chairs was usually unattended and would have to wait 5 or more minutes before some one appeared.

Hotel Wailea is quiet and tucked away on the hill....there were renovations going on to some of the other older condos but the construction people were very respectful of us walking the paths, and we never heard any noise.

We will definately return, one of the nicest places we have been to.

Room Tip: Ensure you ask for the newly renovated rooms, top floors have awesome ocean views.

The room was outstanding!!! The service was wonderful and they were so helpful. We had. Late return flight and they held our luggage and let us use the pool and sap after we checked out. Dinner at their restaurant Capische was one of the best dining experiences my husband and I have ever had.

The only thing I wish was different was the location. Not really that close to the beach, but do have access with chairs and umbrellas available compliments of the hotel.

I absolutely loved the Hotel Wailea, from its gorgeous lobby, to the recently updated suite, and to the well tended grounds. The suite was well appointed, and furnished stylishly. The staff was extremely professional and polite. I enjoyed being away from the mega resorts up at Kaanapali Beach.

We live near the beach in Florida, so we didn't mind that this wasn't a beachfront resort. My only observation would be that for anyone with mobility problems should address them in advance with hotel management, as the grounds are hilly so some up & down walking is required.

Room Tip: Request a recently remodeled suite, and if you want an ocean view, be aware that you will be close t...
