“Very quiet”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

We went for lunch and were the only customers there probably due to the golf course being closed for renovation.
Food was decent but not spectacular - the smoothie on the other hand was!
Not overly priced and good service would probably use again if in the area.

“Great view”

We did happy hour twice at the Cafe on the Green at Makena Golf Course. The food was very good and the service was great. We would go back.

“Context Is Everything”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

OK, I am sure this restaurant more than meets the needs of many tourists - which explains the ranking. But just so you know, this is a golf club restaurant, not a fancy private golf club restaurant, but probably one similar to your local municipal golf course. The selection is minimal, the food somewhat average. Indeed, the price (and perhaps value) is good. I took the family for a good dinner, and it has taken weeks for my wife to speak to me about it. I did not like the food, nor did my wife and three pre-teen/ teen kids. There were lots of people in the restaurant that looked to be enjoying themselves so it appeals to some people. Just understand ... it is a golf club restaurant. See Monkey Tree for a better option.

“Good restaurant, bad location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

The food and here are very good and if you were here for golf you might think it was a very good restaurant. However, you won't be here for golf (summer 2013) because the course is being renovated and a new pond is being constructed which leaves the view virtually nonexistent. Of course, even when the renovation is completed there still won't be much of a view because they didn't pick a very good spot for the cafe in the first place. Without a view of a beautiful course and surroundings it's just a municipal course cafe that serves better than average food.
