“Best Ocean view restaurant in South Kihei!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

Wow! You won't get a better view than this, you are so close to the ocean you can almost reach out of the huge open windows and touch it. they have the biggest windows you've ever seen, spreading over half the building and they open it all up and you can't even hardly eat your food because everyone is staring out the windows at the ocean and listening to it. The food was delicious, there were eleven of us that went there for dinner and everyone loved what they had. I will eat there everytime I go to Maui and cannot wait to go again.

“Not to shabby”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013 via mobile

Sat at the restaurant during the lunch/breakfast hours....the cocktails were good, the big breakfast was just that big, could of used some seasoning and the russet potatoes used as breakfast potatoes were not to my liking....the calamari was extremely good and I also had the lobster BLT...for $21 i wasnt very impressed, minimal seasonings on the sandwich but the house made (so I think) fries and onion rings were great....looked at the dinner menu and wasn't that excited......service for a fairly empty restaurant was really slow but they only had one server in charge of the whole floor....all in all not to shabby

“Beautiful view and hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

As i entered the Five Palms i was greeted with much aloha! Right away i noticed the great ocean views and beautiful beach. The food was great and reasonably priced. It was a perfect morning to enjoy breakfast on the beach. The staff was very pleasent and made it a very memorable experience. I would say this restaurant is a must if you are in south Kihei.

“Don't go here for dinner; the food was adequate at best.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

Atmosphere was nice and our server was very pleasant. Unfortunately, the food was not memorable. The coconut shrimp that many wrote about was nearly tasteless and the fish entres were simply not memorable. I wouldn't recommend.

“First Night in Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

On our first night in Maui, we chose to dine at the resort wherein we were staying (the Mana Kai) just for the convenience. We were delighted with the ocean view and overall ambience of the restaurant. The service was fine and our waiter (Ben from Massachusetts) was very gregarious without being the least bit obsequious. The entrees (fish of the day: Walu and prawn & scallop entree) were all fine. And although I literally had no room for desert, others at our table thoroughly enjoyed theirs (the pineapple creme brulée). It was a lovely meal in a lovely setting with friendly, efficient service - a very nice first night in paradise.
