I believe that the prior reviews are very accurate, and the key to your being happy here can be found within these posts. I cannot say strongly enough that this hotel is at the end of the commecial road and it is very isolated. We like that, but you may not. We did not love the hotel restuarant for dinner, therefore it was a bit of a hike to find places for dinner. Kihei seemed to far and Wailea to bland and touristy. We had two dinners at Cafe at the Green, the hotel's grill located at the golf course just across the street. Good value drinks and appetizers during happy hour and a killer view particularly at sunset. The rooms here are nothing to write home about, but the hotel grounds are gorgeous. Plus there is one of the best beaches on Maui at your doorstep. Who cares about the room? For us it was more than fine. We got upgraded to an "ocean front" room. Yes, to the side the construction (which we were told has been suspended), was visible, but to the other side was the beautfiul ocean with frequent whale sightings.....construction, what construction? My husband played at the golf course, guests get free club and shoe rentals. He was unimpressed by the course, its condition, and the personnel. Finally, one word of caution, DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT, try the waffles topped with homemade blueberry compote and fresh whipping cream at the breakfast buffet. We had breakast included with our room and I unfortunately stumbled upon this heavenly concoction early in my stay. Even my husband who doesn't care for sweets got addicted. Let's just say no amount of snorkelng or walking on the beach could save us. Just one more thing, all of the employees were friendly and helpful, even our maid knew our names. Andy at the front desk deserves special mention for making our stay particularly pleasant. We would return in a hearbeat.
