“I love this Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2014

This hotel is the best in the province of Cienfuegos, excellent room service, a very clean hotel, in addition to being very close to the city, I went with my family and really have no complaints, has a very nice pool and a beautiful view to the city and to the sea. I highly recommend this cozy and beautiful hotel to all, is very good. and very nice people.

This 50s style hotel is well located at the end of the malecón in the nice neighbourhood of Punta Gorda, about ten minutes from the city centre. The hotel is set in pretty gardens and is located on Cienfuegos Bay with an excellent swimming pool (but no beach). Next door is an amazing residence built in the early 20th. century by a sugar magnate which is now a restaurant and bar. The rooms are huge, though somewhat bleak, with marvelous views over the pool and towards the city. Sunrise and sunset are spectacular here. The buffet restaurant is very good and there are a couple of other places to eat, as well as a noisy night club which doubles as a discothèque. For one of the best restaurants in town, stroll down Calle 35 to "Villa Lagarto", a swanky privately owned paladar. Just past it is La Punta public park.

Room Tip: All rooms exactly the same. Higher floors get better views

In Cuba, the Government owned hotels seem to have plenty of room but dodgy food whilst the Casa Particulares have small rooms but good food so the surprise was that this hotel had space and good food at least judging from the breakfast. Didn't use any of the facilities other than the internet which was useless but agree with other reviewers that the room was clean, bright and airy. The only complaint was we overlooked the pool on the third floor and there was a very noisy disco until around midnight

Room Tip: Avoid a room overlooking the pool

The room here was very nice. Clean and comfortable. The view on both sides of the hotel is stunning. The hotel has a pool which we didn't get to use. The internet wasn't working which was a running situation in Cuba where internet that works and is speedy was very hard to find. Breakfast was average, nice croissants and they do fresh eggs on request.

This hotel is bright and airy, with rooms well furnished and serviced daily with friendly staff. The bar is attractive and both al fresco and inside. The restaurant leaves a bit to be desired, The pool is large and lovely.I will say I have never seen such views in any city in the world. These are the very, very best views from the room.

This hotel has it all. Lovely big clean rooms. Good food. Bar and night club on top floor with amazing views. Lovely swimming pool. Great to come home to after a days sight seeing.
Would certainly stay again.

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the front of building which we enjoyed
