5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2014

This hotel has it all. Lovely big clean rooms. Good food. Bar and night club on top floor with amazing views. Lovely swimming pool. Great to come home to after a days sight seeing.
Would certainly stay again.

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the front of building which we enjoyed

We stayed just for one night as part of a tour of Cuba so it was adequate
Checkin was efficient but I would suggest the hotel management need to employ staff to take guests to the rooms
Safety very poor ,our rooms were along an unlit corridor on to a road !!I didn't feel it was very safe !,Difficult to get into the rooms as it was so dark !!Couldn't get into the room as the door had recently been painted and was stuck !!The strong smell of paint in the room was awful we had to open the door onto the pool to try to get rid of it !
Patio was dirty looked like it hadn't been swept for a while !!
Bathroom needs a bath mat .
Buffet was good wide range of food .
Entertainment was done by the pool and was very loud shame it wasn't done in the entertainment area as not to disturb everyone !!!
Breakfast was good plenty go choice

Stayed here for one night. Our group of 6 were allocated rooms in a beautiful converted house opposite the hotel. We had the whole 1st floor (there were only 2 floors) which had a terrace with tables, chairs and a view over the bay. The rooms were a decent size and adequately furnished. Bathroom was OK but using the bath taps flooded the floor too. It was good to be away from the rather austere concrete main hotel though.

Dinner and breakfast buffets were good by Cuban standards.

My stay was only for one night but I wish it could have been longer. The hotel is lovely. My room was great. Breakfast was very well organised and whilst busy I didn't wait long for my fresh omelette.

My favourite hotel in a 2 week trip around Cuba!
A bit out of town on a lovely peninsula, which means it has gorgeous views esp at sunset!
Large comfy room (and for once a room with decent lighting) with a large balcony. Working A/C & plenty hot water.
Lots of choice at breakfast

We chose this Hotel for its location and made a miscalculation, its at the end of the peninsula and although its quiet and has the two best restaurants we found in Cuba nearby it is not easy without a car to take daily excursions. The travel desk in the hotel never opens but the office in the city centre is excellent. Most visitors appear by bus on a daily basis presumably on tours and the place has an air of a transit camp about it, because of this we think the staff were not particularly helpful and the general service was poor. We had a sink but no plug, a cupboard but the door would not open, the TV did'nt work and there is a charge for the room safe etc .etc.. But this is Cuba !!! The best place to stay in Cienfuegos is the Union Hotel in the city centre.

Room Tip: The lifts don't work very well but good luck trying to get a different room.

This hotel turned out to be a lot better than I expected. For a government run hotel in Cuba it is pretty good. The rooms are basic but clean. There was a nice breeze at night from the sea. The location is excellent. There is no wi-fi but you can buy a card to use one the computers in the bar area.
