“its okay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

Been here for breakfast, it was fine. View and patio are nice on a warm day. Dinner was okay. Meatballs were good and salmon was okay even though it was frozen. Service is excellent. Atmosphere, not great.
Cocktails a little pricey. It was convenient while staying at Calabogie Lodge and we appreciated it being within walking distance.

“A lot of potential...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

We went there here for lunch on a Wednesday in mid March...needless to say it wasn't very busy due to the time of the year.
Being the only people in the restaurant, we had really great service from whom we believed to be the new owner. She was very attentive and friendly.
The decor seemed a bit to be desired as the tables seemed to be sparse in the large room, not very much on the walls, there was a small fake flower on the table, and the rock that ran along the entire length of the back wall which apparently is a waterfall - was not running.
The food was really quite enjoyable, although the special that I ordered (veggie flatbread) actually had chicken on it that was not mentioned anywhere in the explanation or title. Luckily I am not a vegetarian and was happy with the extra topping.
All in all it was okay, but I think would be a really nice place in the summer time as it is right by the water, and there are large windows and what appears to be a small patio area to sit out and enjoy the scenery and a bevy.

“Great Food, Great Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

We came in to eat one meal and we ended up eating at the Lakeshore our entire stay. Attentive service and great service equals great food. There are new owners and we were quite surprise that they had such great food. I love the restaurant and would recommend anyone staying at the lodge to go try out the menu. For breakfast I had a fruit salad that was made from scratch, and then polished off french toast, with great coffee, not the pot kind, but the nice new coffee machine that does espresso, oh so nice coffee it's taste better than what is served at the coffee house. We also had dinner, I had a house salad, again all fresh ingredient, it was very good and then on to the pasta. My husband has the kabas fish, it tasted like heaven. A new menu awaits you when you get there this summer. The service, the food and the attention the new owner, makes this a 10.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

We went to check out the lodge and accommodations and just had a coffee, but the menu was great, and we are very excited to go back for Lunch and now that they are open for Dinner, That is certainly a great option as well!
Well worth the drive from Renfrew, Arnprior or Ottawa!

“Exceptional Food, Service, Atmosphere, & Value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

Spent our anniversary weekend in Calabogie, and went to the Lakeshore Cafe on Saturday morning for breakfast. The atmosphere is great, casually elegant, and one of the walls is an indoor rock-wall with a waterfall going through, very beautiful and makes the atmosphere calm and comfortable. Local artwork is displayed on the walls, and the screen doors were open to allow a beautiful breeze to come in from the lake. There is also outside seating with a beautiful view. Our waitress was so kind and friendly, and gave us tips on great fishing spots around the lake. The coffee was fresh and delicious, and the food was excellent. The peameal bacon was tender and juicy, eggs were large and cooked to perfection, and the homefries were crispy and perfectly seasoned. My husband had sausage and regular bacon, and both were flavourful and plentiful. Each plate was finished off with a strawberry, a lovely touch. We enjoyed it so much we returned on Sunday, and I tried the french toast, which was delicious! They offer some specialty teas, iced coffee, and coffee drinks as well, I had a latte, and it was excellent. Our waitress remembered us from the previous day, and asked about our luck fishing, such a wonderful lady! The value was unbelievable, so reasonably priced. Would most certainly recommend and return again, such a gem!
