“New Owner, fantastic lady, great Coffee!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

We went to check out the lodge and accommodations and just had a coffee, but the menu was great, and we are very excited to go back for Lunch and now that they are open for Dinner, That is certainly a great option as well!
Well worth the drive from Renfrew, Arnprior or Ottawa!

“Exceptional Food, Service, Atmosphere, & Value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

Spent our anniversary weekend in Calabogie, and went to the Lakeshore Cafe on Saturday morning for breakfast. The atmosphere is great, casually elegant, and one of the walls is an indoor rock-wall with a waterfall going through, very beautiful and makes the atmosphere calm and comfortable. Local artwork is displayed on the walls, and the screen doors were open to allow a beautiful breeze to come in from the lake. There is also outside seating with a beautiful view. Our waitress was so kind and friendly, and gave us tips on great fishing spots around the lake. The coffee was fresh and delicious, and the food was excellent. The peameal bacon was tender and juicy, eggs were large and cooked to perfection, and the homefries were crispy and perfectly seasoned. My husband had sausage and regular bacon, and both were flavourful and plentiful. Each plate was finished off with a strawberry, a lovely touch. We enjoyed it so much we returned on Sunday, and I tried the french toast, which was delicious! They offer some specialty teas, iced coffee, and coffee drinks as well, I had a latte, and it was excellent. Our waitress remembered us from the previous day, and asked about our luck fishing, such a wonderful lady! The value was unbelievable, so reasonably priced. Would most certainly recommend and return again, such a gem!

“Beautiful view of the lake, Great food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2012

The restaurant is in the Calabogie Lodge administration building, but it's run separately by a local man. We stayed at the Lodge for a week. The restaurant has a limited menu and hours, a decent wine selection, and the owner is quite friendly and outgoing. If you're visiting the lodge or just spending time in the area, you'll be missing something if you don't stop in for dinner This was the best restaurant we tried within 5 miles. A couple were still closed, so we didn't try all, and we ate our main meal at lunch on day trips several times. On those days our dinners were light meals fixed in our unit in the lodge. We were a little early in the season, and we were surprised at the lack of patrons in the restaurant. However, we soon discovered that no place was really crowded. We planned to come back for a second meal, but our plans didn't pan out. I wouldn't hesitate to come back if in the area again.

“Really enjoyed it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2012

This was a great find for our family group. We were concerned about the lack of patrons but understandably we went during a low traffic period at the resort. The atmosphere was charming (really neat integration of a rock wall into the building!) and very comfortable for all ages. We were impressed with the tasty and very reasonably priced meals.
