“Interesting and Informative Small Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

I've stopped by here three times now. This is not a large museum, but it is very well thought out and informative . I'd guess we spent about a half hour talking to the docents, reading and looking at the displays and viewing a short video. This is the actual site of the first transatlantic wireless telegraph transmission, and has very informative displays and knowledgeable docents. I can't imagine not taking a side trip to it when in the area.

“What a gem!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

Very small, to view the items and history may only take 20 mins tops, BUT, there is a great fellow
there - Jim, who has a vast knowledge of the area ,Marconi, and his experiments and successes and Morse Code. This is a great stop, a lessen in history we knew too little about!

Well worth visiting -- very interesting. Such an informative little museum, where it all actually took place. Good museum staff -- informative, helpful, & friendly.

“very good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013

What makes this NHS truly stand out is the incredibly informed docent; he told us he volunteers ten hours a day seven days a week; he was very enthused about Morse Code and willing to share his expertise.

“Worth an hour's side trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

This small historic site interprets Marconi's role in the development of global communications and is located on the site of the first official wireless message sent across the Atlantic to England. Visitors to the center can view a model of the original transmission station, watch an informative video about Marconi's role in the field of telecommunications, or view a display summarizing other pioneers in telecommunications. Next, go outside to walk along an interpretive trail to view the remains of the original Table Head station. While this is likely a definite destination for die-hard Marconi or wireless communications fans, it is worth an hour's side trip from other area attractions - such as the Cape Breton Miner's Museum - if you enjoy learning about regional contributions to national and global history.
