“A grand hotel on the grand Mississippi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Natchez Grand Hotel over a portion of the Fourth of July long weekend. Our stay could not have been better. Everyone on staff was courteous and were true service professionals. The location of the hotel is fantastic. We were in a suite with a close-up view of the Mississippi River. Beautiful and calming. We had dinner at Monmouth Historic Inn, a historic plantation. Our meal was fine dining, and the atmosphere very romantic. We highly recommend that you include a meal at Monmouth Plantation during your visit.

Room Tip: Get a room or suite with a view of the Mississippi if you can. And try for a corner. Our suite was...

My husband and I stayed here one night over the 4th of July weekend on our long weekend adventure to see antebellum homes (Natchez has a lot!). We had never been to Natchez before but after reading other reviews we thought this was the best place to stay and I'm happy to say we had a great experience. The hotel was very clean and classy. It sits right next to the river so you are within walking distance to a few restaurants and bars. The only negative I can say is sometimes the front desk staff is not very helpful when you ask about different restaurants and such but we later figured out it is kind of that way all around the town. Overall, if we are ever traveling that way again we will stay here. Great hotel and great small town to visit!

My husband and I celebrated our 13 year anniversary here, 2 nights. Very easy check in. GREAT room with a wonderful view! We had the river view with balcony. It was awesome to sit and relax on the balcony and watch the sun go down over the Mississippi River. We were within walking distance to Magnolia Bluffs Casino(the walk down was ok, but take the shuttle up). It is in a great location. The breakfast that is provided with your stay is wonderful, not your typical continental breakfast; grits, eggs, sausage, biscuits, white gravy, waffles, toast, cereal, yogurt, fruit, juice, coffee--and the grits were cooked perfectly! Will definitely be staying here again. Only con was we slept in our first night and put the "Room service tag" on the door at about 1:00p and didn't receive service, no big deal though.

My wife and I stay in this hotel in mid June 2013 for our 10 year anniversary. It was a plesant stay and the staff was friendly. We had a suite overlooking the Miss river. It was a great view. This hotel was in a very good location. It had a great view of the river and close to restaurants. Also very close to a casino. I would recommend this hotel for anyone and the city of natchez too. I had a great stay, and toured the Monmouth plantation too.

Room Tip: Get a river view if possible.

I must say although this was a last minute get away due to having to attend a funeral, I did not get the opportunity to enjoy the room much however I will say if you are looking to catch up some R&R in a pretty laid back environment this is the place. Being able to walk out and look onto the river was very tranquil, it's not a very busy city with that being said you will have the opportunity to have peace while enjoying walks on the trail or going for a quick run in the morning. The breakfast was pretty good and for a full breakfast buffet honestly who can argue free food. Overall I had a good stay by it not being a holiday weekend I wish it could have been a tad bit cheaper but the free parking, and free made up...

Location is the selling point.

I thought the property was older than it is until I read its opening date on here. Our room was very nice but I agree with the post about the hardwood floors. They were noisy. Bed was fine. Bathroom was fine. Everything else was fine. Not a bad value for us.

Arrivéd at 17.30 hours on sunday 16th June 2013. Easy to find hotel. Good to park the car. Hotel is nice located. Looks good from the outside. Room on third floor with view on the Mississippi river and bridge which at night looks great. Large room and large bathroom and fine towels. Lot of space. Room not very clean. Found bill from previous quest from the day before. Also found small items on the floor. Checking bed and pillow/cushions: bed comfortable, but stains on the cushions. Bedlinnen not white, maybe they do the laundry in the Mississippi . Asked for other pillows and pillowcases. Got brandnew white pillowcases and clean pillows. Matress: large stains. Curtains are too short, that makes the room not dark. Carpets dirty. Restaurant closed on sunday. Found good bar/restaurant within walking distance, only 2 blocks from hotel. Breakfast: not great but good enough. Outside pool in corner of parkingplace. Pool very small. Management please take care of your hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for room with rivierview and high floor
