“A very good introduction to Natchez.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2014

The displays at the visitor center are well done. I would have appreciated more information on the African-American experience in Natchez. The film was a bit dated but nonetheless a good introduction.

“Best Visitor Center of Roadtrip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2014

Our group of 5 seniors (2 American, 3 British) recently completed a roadtrip of the Southern States. We began our visit to Natchez with a stop at the Visitor Center, per recommendations from others on this site. It was easy to find, larger than expected, had lots of parking, clean rest rooms, and afforded fantastic views of the Mississippi River. Inside we found many displays, very helpful staff, loads of area attraction brochures, a nice gift shop, and free cold drinks which were much appreciated on such a hot day. We enjoyed the film ($1.50 rate for seniors, and well worth it) as it provided an excellent overview of the Natchez story. Not to be missed.

“Visit here before touring Natchez”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

The visitor center was helpful in planning our day in Natchez. Film was good, and included drinks! (small fee) They helped us buy tickets for the carriage ride, and house tours. Warning, carriage rides run only once per hour on Sundays, not every half hour, visitor center doesn't know this. Driver was a local, and very colorful character, with 12 children. he was in on the building and rehab of most of downtown Natchez. Saw as much of downtown as we could have needed. Carriage tour lasted an hour.

“Road Trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

This is a great place to start your visit to Natchez. Get your free map and coffee and collect the various guides to make sure you are prepared for the visit. There are a number of displays giving information about the towns past as well as a 20 min video in the theatre and a small shop. You can also buy tickets here for all the local attractions. There is a large car park and great views across the Mississippi River. From here you can also walk into the town centre taking in the sights on the way.
