“Wedding weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

This was the second marriage for the both of us and we only wanted something simple and private, as we are both very busy and finding time was difficult. Jackie at Magnolia Cottage was simply wonderful. She planned everything and it was so very nice. It was the first time for both of us to stay at a bed and breakfast and we are already trying to figure out when we can return. We have recommended it to everyone and will continue to do so. We are planning to try and return later this year for a relaxing weekend. I am now spoiled and hope to continue this on a regular basis or at least as often as we can steal some time away.

Room Tip: This was a bed and breakfast and I would recommend it to everyone.

First let me say, that the hospitality from Jackie and her husband was incredible. Jackie was very helpful, but never intrusive, in giving us information on the area and suggestions of things to do, see and places to eat. We enjoyed two great breakfasts prepared by Jackie – we chose to have breakfast in the cottage on our first morning there and were very pleased that we chose to have our breakfast in the formal dining room of the main house on the second morning. Breakfasts were truly wonderful – fresh, home cooked and presented beautifully and with a smile. We had the best weekend – the cottage was cozy, adorable and comfortable. The comfort of the bed was the perfect ending to an adventurous day exploring the quaint town of Natchez. The robes provided were a really nice touch too. Antique shops were plentiful and a great way to spend the day. Dinner at Cotton Alley was an excellent recommendation – food was delicious and we enjoyed both the wine and the casual elegant atmosphere as we sat in the upholstered chairs. The Carriage House was a good choice for lunch – food was good and staff and atmosphere were great. Under The Hill Saloon was a fun time for some late afternoon drinks. Great place. Perfect weekend getaway, we highly recommend it and look forward to going back soon.

Accommodations were wonderful! Very relaxing and Jackie and Joe were great. Enjoyed visiting with them and breakfast was delicious. When we were told breakfast would be served it was served! I felt like I was back in the old south. Wish we could have stayed longer! Boo S.

Room Tip: convenient to downtown Natchez

Sweet and hospitable stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Magnolia Cottage. The cottage is warm & welcoming and so are the hosts. We were most pleased with the delicious treats that awaited us at check in. Upon entering our cottage we noticed a perfectly dressed table with fresh flowers and wonderful pralines. What’s not to love? If you want to be pampered and treated with extra special amenities this is the place for you! I highly recommend you stay at the Magnolia Cottage!

We stayed one night in this quaint cottage. The room was large with space for a small dining table and sofa. Everything was spotless and clean. Our breakfast was served in our room (our choice) and it was delicious! The location is very convenient. Jackie and Joe were wonderful hosts and we hope to visit again when we have more time. Thank you!

My daughter and I stayed here one night on a 10 day vacation. We wanted to experience the comforts of a normal middle-class home after many nights in fabulous plantation mansions. The bed and breakfast bedroom is located in a wing of the old cottage separated from the main house by a locked door. The owner serves your breakfast during the week in the comfort of the bedroom which is big enough for a dining table and two chairs, a refrigerator, microwave, nice large TV, small sofa and coffee table and fireplace. It is very comfortable and the food is good. Weekends the breakfast is in the main house dining room. Cute little place and very comfortable. We walked down town from here and it was an easy 8 block walk. The only discomforting thing in this otherwise quiet neighborhood is all the ADT security signs on the front lawns, Either there is the threat of hidden crime or an aggressive ADT salesman.

I love Natchez and this was my third visit there.

Thank you for your kind review.... In regards to the ADT signs, most of our historic homes contain very old and valuable antiques. Therefore their insurance companies either require or give reduced rates for alarm systems. Natchez overall is a very safe community however no city in the US is exempt from crime. We personally have no problem walking to our downtown area.
