“Grand Funk...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

This place could be a perfect Deep South movie set. All you'd need would be some Kliegs, a clapperboard, script by Faulkner and Action! Even the aroma is right: Overstuffed furniture exposed to 100 years of excess humidity. And the botanical garden that precedes the lobby when you enter is just right and very charming -- as is the staff.
We had the feeling of being the only guests, but saw an actual human in the very large lounge. He seemed very, very lonely, and perhaps was.
The room was comfortable, as were the public spaces. Stay there for a night and come away with the feeing you have visited a bygone era.

Interesting, large, older hotel in a good, central location. The rooms are a little small and haven't been updated in a decade or two but are ok. The common areas, lobby, restaurant etc are even older, which is charming but in some places it looks a bit worn. The hotel history is fascinating and colorful and and reflection of the history of Natchez itself.

On our arrival the reception staff were being rushed off their feet, sadly not enough on duty resulted in a curt service. We were put in room 308, the residents in room 309 were quite active, so the thin walls gave us a late nights sleep. The hotel is clean and parking was free but it needs a bit of a makeover. In the morning the member of staff on reception was more customer friendly. The hotel is located within easy walking distance to the riverside and the town is very clean. Not a lot to do there.

This is the oldest hotel on Main Street. It needs a bit of updating, but is still a beautiful historic hotel. It's very worth a visit and walk through the lobby. The daily lunch buffet is well attended and the food is usually quite good.

Amazing lobby packed full of history. Rooms reminded us of many historic properties we have stayed in throughout North America. Not for you if you are a regular at the Hilton or the Westin. Breakfast was not included but there was a very nice dining room with very reasonable buffet prices. The room was clean but small however that is to be expected when you take in the era the hotel was built in. Wonderful location with plenty of entertainment near by. Amazing walk-ways and paths throughout town.If you want to stay downtown this is the one!

We stayed here as part of an escorted tour. A listed building in a quiet town. Wifi free in all areas. Breakfast buffet was $10.95. Set in the middle of the town with lots of restaurants nearby to eat at. An enjoyable stay.

This was a very nice old hotel. The hotel has a very elegant lobby. The staff was friendly and helpful. A hotel that was built over 75 years ago is obviously not going to be as modern as a new Hilton, Sheraton. That is not why you stay in these grand old hotels. Our room had 2 nice beds, was very clean, quiet and a great location. Would highly recommend.
