“Bit worn”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

Interesting, large, older hotel in a good, central location. The rooms are a little small and haven't been updated in a decade or two but are ok. The common areas, lobby, restaurant etc are even older, which is charming but in some places it looks a bit worn. The hotel history is fascinating and colorful and and reflection of the history of Natchez itself.

On our arrival the reception staff were being rushed off their feet, sadly not enough on duty resulted in a curt service. We were put in room 308, the residents in room 309 were quite active, so the thin walls gave us a late nights sleep. The hotel is clean and parking was free but it needs a bit of a makeover. In the morning the member of staff on reception was more customer friendly. The hotel is located within easy walking distance to the riverside and the town is very clean. Not a lot to do there.

This is the oldest hotel on Main Street. It needs a bit of updating, but is still a beautiful historic hotel. It's very worth a visit and walk through the lobby. The daily lunch buffet is well attended and the food is usually quite good.

Amazing lobby packed full of history. Rooms reminded us of many historic properties we have stayed in throughout North America. Not for you if you are a regular at the Hilton or the Westin. Breakfast was not included but there was a very nice dining room with very reasonable buffet prices. The room was clean but small however that is to be expected when you take in the era the hotel was built in. Wonderful location with plenty of entertainment near by. Amazing walk-ways and paths throughout town.If you want to stay downtown this is the one!

We stayed here as part of an escorted tour. A listed building in a quiet town. Wifi free in all areas. Breakfast buffet was $10.95. Set in the middle of the town with lots of restaurants nearby to eat at. An enjoyable stay.

This was a very nice old hotel. The hotel has a very elegant lobby. The staff was friendly and helpful. A hotel that was built over 75 years ago is obviously not going to be as modern as a new Hilton, Sheraton. That is not why you stay in these grand old hotels. Our room had 2 nice beds, was very clean, quiet and a great location. Would highly recommend.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

It was a ominous beginning when our door key couldn't open our room and even when my husband went down & had another one reset, he found that he had to get another new set to get into the room! The room was very small and the bathroom is tiny. A nice wing back chair to read in but no lamp near it.The rooms haven't been updated and the carpet was not clean. We had a small 19 inch color TV in the armoire but my husband gave up watching the Alabama game on it and went down to the bar area to see the rest of the game.. Also,we did not have a light bulb in one of our lamps either. The towels and the toiletries were very nice in the bathroom. There weren't enough plugs to recharge my Nook so I had to balance it on the bathroom garbage can. The bed was extremely hard but the nice maid put an extra mattress pad on it the second night so my husband & I could get a decent nights sleep. The staff was cordial but seemed to be overworked and overwhelmed with the problems of being over booked and not enough parking areas for the hotel guests. However, we really enjoyed the outdoor patio with the fire & waterfall effect. The location is good but the hotel is aging. As we checked out, it appeared that there were wrappers of some kind underneath bed....so glad I didn't see it before. This hotel was a very big disappointment to us as well as being overpriced for what you got!

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony because you want it after seeing your room!
