Yes, it's an old hotel but I thought it was very nice and charming. The location is great as it is in walking distance of many things - restaurants, shopping, antebellum homes, the Mississippi River. The rooms in the hotel were small but very clean. The staff was very accommodating - taking a great deal of time to accommodate us for two unexpected additional nights. If you want new and modern, stay at a hotel chain but you'll lose out on the charm of a historic hotel in a city full of history.

I have stayed at this hotel in years past and it was much better. This time was disappointing as the room was tiny, dirty and the furniture was in bad condition. The hotel needs some updating and general maintenance. It is beginning to run down. It is old and not kept up.
I will not spend the money for this kind of hotel again. They are building new hotels on the street near the river so I recommend them before the Eola.

This hotel has a beautiful foyer, lounge and courtyard. That said, I was a little disappointed in the quality of the rooms. We had the next to largest room at the next to highest price and the ceiling fan wobbled so loudly we couldn't use it. The bed had a very thin, synthetic bedspread one would find in a motel which was in a really outdated, and to my eyes, unattractive fabric. The room was clean and the bed fairly comfortable, but for this price we stayed in a beautiful room at the Adolphus in Dallas.
The hotel has a bar and two restaurants. We only tried the one which serves breakfast and the cafe across Pearl Street had a much better breakfast for a lot less. The cafe had nicer wait staff as well.

“The hotel was pleasant, but front desk service could use some help.”

Natchez Eola Hotel

We had the opportunity to stay at the Natchez Eola on our trip through Natchez. We loved what we read about the hotel, and found it to be very pleasant in style and history, however, our check-in left me wondering if I'd made the right decision. The clerk acted as if we were putting her out... then when we asked why the hotel restaurants were closed on the day we arrived we were told--in an un-friendly way-- "we only have 10 rooms booked, so we closed them to clean the carpets" Okaaay... Luckily we found another option that actually turned out to be better. (I recommend you don't eat at the hotel, go to King's Tavern around the corner instead.)

Good hotel, but don't expect too much from the front desk!

We have stayed at the Eola before and stayed there again for a wedding. We returned to find the hotel in even more shabby condition then when we had been there a year before. It is a beautiful and wonderful location however it is time for some decor - i.e. sofas had holes in the them, the comforter was gross and the carpet was very worn. I do hope they fix this place up to it is previous glory.
