We generally love Thai food, so when we needed a change from Southern fare on our trip to Natchez for the Spring Pilgrimage, we decided to give Planet Thailand a try. What a mistake! We have never before had such bad service . First of all, our server had no knowledge of the menu dishes. For me, that's critical in an ethnic restaurant, especially a non-chain restaurant, since interpretations of various dishes seem to vary quite a lot. Also, the degree of spiciness was not address. As a matter of fact, the server had no idea what we were talking about when we asked about the different levels of spiciness in the dishes. Finally, we couldn't get the attention of the server when we wanted our bill, and we had tickets for a show that night. Seems she was too busy chatting with her teenage friends to take care of us. The food wasn't too bad, though perhaps the worst Thai food we've had. My wife's dish, for example, had some kind of red sauce that tasted very much like it had a ketchup base! This place needs some aggressive management. A gentleman who might have been one of the owners spent his time playing with a little child, and lounging outside on a bench. Needless to say, my advice would be to stick with good old Southern food when visiting Natchez.
