We stayed here for four nights on our recent trip to California. We chose it due to the other trip advisor reviews and it's location north of SF.
On check in the staff were very accommodating and let us look over a couple of rooms so we could choose the best place for us. Once we had they went out of their way to find us a room that met our needs.
There is plenty of car parking space and the hotel is generally very quiet given it was quite busy and between to busy roads.
Access to the 101 is very close with a short drive to the Golden Gate Bridge. Easy access to SF without paying SF costs. Also an easy trip from here up to Napa.

Wold definately stay here again.

Despite the fact that the hotel sign was almost obscured by John Deere earth-moving/road-ripping equipment, all was quiet inside the lobby and our room. It looks like an ordinary motel that has been upgraded to almost a boutique hotel look and feel. Our double-queen had a nice desk and chair, armchair and bureau/entertainment cabinet - all looked fresh and new. Nice clean duvet and pillows. Extra sink outside the bathroom. A nice patio off each room with cool furniture. Good temp controls. Nice view to landscaped groups and very nice pool area. Although we were too busy to take advantage of it, the hotel offered elixirs and s'mores nightly. Two pretty gathering areas with fire pits and a generous continental breakfast. They also had bikes to borrow - a nice touch since it is off a major bike/walking path. It is very close to downtown Mill Valley, 101 and 1 - to the various Golden Gate recreational areas. Once the road construction is done, it will be pretty close to perfect.

When I stay at a hotel I look for three things - cleanliness, safety, and location (in that order). This hotel was perfect and offered a few perks like free continental breakfast (and a substantial one, at that), smores in the evenings, and a wonderful location right on a running/biking path. It has a gorgeous view of a water inlet and the surrounding hills and a perfect location for exploring Sausalito, the red woods, and traveling up to Napa/Sonoma (which is what I did). It's right off the main highway through the area, but noise wasn't an issue. The rooms have been recently remodeled and while the hallways could use a little updating, the room was spotless, functional, and modern. I'll be staying here again with several friends when we travel back to the area in a few weeks.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the backside of the hotel rather than the front - the view is gorgeous!

Driving through San Francisco to get to Marin and Muir Woods is a frustrating experience at the best of times - so we decided to find a location across the bridge to facilitate an early start the next morning.

We arrived late and check in was fast and efficient. We had a quiet room in the back on the main floor which made it very easy to get the bags into the car in the morning.

The room was comfortable if a little cramped and we had a great sleep.

We booked through Expedia but we would not next time. The hotel offers a best rate guarantee on the website and you get Stash rewards when booking directly which you don't get through other sites.

If you have heavy luggage, get a room on the main floor as there are no elevators.

Room Tip: If you have luggage, get a room on the main floor as there are no elevators. Rooms in the back are...

This hotel is by itself and not near other hotels. Far enough off the freeway to eliminate noise. Close to Sausalito and other Marin County attractions. The room we had was large, well appointed and very clean. It had an upgraded feel to it. Very nice pool and spa area. Amenities included a very good free breakfast, free bike rentals and riding and walking trails around the lagoon. In the evening they gave you grahm crackers, marshmellos and chocolate bars to make your own smores on the patio fire pit. Joanne at the front desk was very helpful and informative and is to be commended. This hotel just north of the Golden Gate bridge was a great find.

Room Tip: Ask for an oversize room near the pool

THE GOOD: Close proximity to shopping & restaurants in Sausalito, also not far from Muir Woods. Free bike rentals (nice, scenic trail). Free smores kits that you can roast in the patio by the fire. Good selection of movies that you can borrow for free. Nice continental breakfast. The bed is comfortable. There is a company that will prpvide room service from many of the nearby restaurants for a small service charge.

THE BAD: No elevator! Also, the Italian restaurant next door is not very kid friendly. They serve duck, rabbit, and entrees I cannot pronounce! We did not eat there at all. Also, the air-conditioner is loud, and our room was next to the parking lot so we can hear people thumping their luggage up and down the stairs.

Room Tip: Rooms in the back, close to the parking lot, can be noisy with people coming and going, talking in t...
