Everything about the Buffalo Rock Lodge is outstanding from the view to Mt Rushmore to the hospitality. The hosts are friendly and very knowledgable about the area, every day they helped us choose our days activities and driving route. The Lodge's construction is incredible and it is immaculately fitted out and decorated.

The lodge was built by Marilyn and Art, and attention to every detail shows their passion for their lodgings. The room we stayed in, The C.C. Gideon, was large and very comfortable, although the Sitting Room area was so inviting we spent most of our time there chatting to the hosts and the other guests. I am sure the outside area would also be lovely in the warmer weather, but the fireplace was more appealing to us as it was a bit on the cool side in October.

Every day breakfast was something to be looked forward to with a wide variety of dishes being served. Supper every evening was also a treat, and a chance to hear of everyone's day.

If your looking for a great place to base yourself to see this beautiful part of the USA, then this is it. The only thing you will regret, as we did, is having to leave.
