Mount Rushmore took my breath away on first site. Here was a place I had seen ever since I was a child on TV, books, magazines, movies, but nothing has prepared me for the feeling I had when I stood in front and viewed it for myself. My eyes welled with tears and I was overcome with the emotion of just what a great country this is despite all the problems we encounter. There is plenty to do here, awesome walking trails, places to sit, eat, relax, nice bathrooms, etc. The Ponderosa Pines on the exposed granite mountains are absolutely breathtaking. A wonder and a must for American to see.
